GTA 5 Cell Phone Cheats

These cheat codes are entered using your in-game cell phone and work on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. For a page with only the phone codes, view our dedicated Phone Cheats page.

Expanded & Enhanced Cheats

These additional cheats only work in newer versions of GTA 5 (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC). Also, unlike all the other cheats above, you need to unlock each vehicle first by doing a random event, and only then can you spawn it with a phone cheat code.

Spawn Duke O'Death

• Dial 1-999-3328-4227 (1-999-DEATHCAR)
• Complete the "Duel" random event to unlock the Duke O'Death. You do this by first stealing the Duke located around the gas station near Route 68, close to the LSC garage. Then simply get rid of the enemies that will chase you.

Spawn Kraken Sub

• Dial 1-999-282-2537 (1-999-BUBBLES)
• Do the "Wildlife Photography Challenge" first to unlock the Kraken. You need to take pictures (using the Snapmatic) of all 20 different kinds of animals that exist in GTA 5.

Spawn Dodo Airplane

• Dial 1-999-398-4628 (1-999-EXTINCT)
• Complete the "Sea Plane" random event to unlock the Dodo by heading over to the area that is just to the East of the Alternate Farms (RON Winds). You'll find a mountainside cove there and can begin the event.

Director Mode

• Dial 1-999-57-825368 (1-999-JR-TALENT)
• Director mode basically lets you direct the action in GTA 5 using a number of different characters, locations and other cheats.

Black Cell Phone

• Dial 1-999-367-3767 (1-999-EMP-DROP)
• Your cell phone literally turns black. That is the only confirmed effect of this cheat.

How-to Use Cheats in GTA 5

GTA 5 cheat codes are simple to activate once you know the steps:

1. Save your game.
2. Pick a cheat code from our list above.
3. Enter the code during gameplay:
   PlayStation: / Xbox: press the button combo using your controller.
   PC: Open the console (press ~ key on US keyboards, the ¬ key on UK keyboards) and type the cheat code.
4. Re-enter the same code again if you want to deactivate the cheat.

To use the cell phone method, bring out your phone (press UP, go to your contacts and press either SQUARE on PlayStation, X on Xbox, or SPACEBAR or MIDDLEMOUSEBUTTON on PC. The dialpad will popup. Then just enter in the number code for the cheat and press the same button again to dial/activate it.

How-to Disable GTA V Cheats

To disable or turn off a cheat that you have activated, simply enter the cheat code / button combo for it again. For cheats that have progressive effects (like the weather cheat or slow motion aim), you might need to enter the code again multiple times to cycle through all the different effects until you get to the one that disables the cheat.

Tips for Using GTA 5 cheats

• Save your game progress before you before use any cheats and make sure you load that same saved game up when you are finished using them.
• You can't earn Achievements or Trophies if cheats have been active in your current session.
• To earn Achievements or Trophies again, you need to load up your last "clean" saved game, the one you made before you started using cheats.
• You can complete missions and pastimes if you have used cheats in your current session, but as noted above, you will not be able to earn Trophies.
• Several cheats, such as the invincibility cheat, will not work during missions or pastimes. Instead, you will get the following message you when try and activate them: "Cheat denied: Not available on a mission or pastime." If you start a mission/pastime with those cheats already active, they will be deactivated automatically.

If something isn't spawning for you when you enter the cheat, try moving into a bigger space, so that it has more room to spawn. This also helps you avoid accidentally destroying the vehicle or getting it stuck in an inaccessible area. Press the button combinations quickly. If you aren't fast enough, the game won't recognize the cheat code.
