The Doomsday Heist is a large-scale, three-act cooperative operation added to Grand Theft Auto Online on December 12, 2017. Teams of two to four form an unlikely alliance with Lester Crest, billionaire Avon Hertz and the AI Clifford to stop a plot that threatens San Andreas. Unlike the Original Heists, it follows one continuous story through three acts launched from a player-owned Facility. 1
Overview
Each act functions as a self-contained heist with Freemode Prep Missions, team-based Setup Missions and an explosive Finale, while all three acts form one continuous story. 1
- Prep Missions: These take place in Freemode and involve sourcing equipment, vehicles or intelligence. They can be completed solo, although associates can speed up the work.
- Setup Missions: These more involved missions require a team of two to four players and often involve infiltrating locations, escorting targets or defending assets.
- Finale Missions: The culmination of each act, these are complex, multi-stage missions that require strong teamwork and execution.
The first playthrough runs through The Data Breaches, The Bogdan Problem and The Doomsday Scenario in order. After completing Act 3, the host can replay any act. The All in Order II, Loyalty and Criminal Mastermind awards still require completing the full sequence under their stated conditions. 2
Starting The Doomsday Heist
To host The Doomsday Heist, buy one of the nine Facility locations available from Maze Bank Foreclosures, register as a VIP, CEO or Motorcycle Club President, and pay the setup cost for the selected act. Invited crew members do not need to own a Facility or pay the setup cost. 3
After the Facility purchase, Lester contacts the host and the planning room opens the operation, beginning with Act 1: The Data Breaches. See The Doomsday Heist Payout Details for Facility prices, setup costs and finale payouts.
