Everything you need to know about The Doomsday Heist in GTA Online.
The Doomsday Heist is a large-scale, three-act cooperative heist introduced to Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the The Doomsday Heist update. It tasks players with uncovering a plot that threatens San Andreas and working with an unlikely crew, including Lester Crest, billionaire Avon Hertz, and his AI Clifford, to prevent a global catastrophe. Unlike previous heists, The Doomsday Heist is initiated from a player-owned IAA Facility and features a more linear story progression through its three distinct acts.
Overview
The Doomsday Heist is broken down into three separate acts, each functioning as a self-contained heist with its own series of free-roam Prep Missions, team-based Setup Missions, and an explosive Finale.
- Prep Missions: These are generally completed in Freemode and involve sourcing equipment or intelligence. They can often be done solo, though having associates can speed up the process.
- Setup Missions: These are more involved missions requiring a team of 2-4 players and often involve infiltrating locations, escorting targets, or defending assets.
- Finale Missions: The culmination of each act, these are complex, multi-stage missions that require strong teamwork and execution.
Players must complete the acts in order (Act 1, Act 2, then Act 3) the first time through. After completing Act 3, players can replay any act in any order.
Starting The Doomsday Heist
To begin The Doomsday Heist, players must first purchase a Facility property from Maze Bank Foreclosures. There are nine Facilities available at various locations and price points.
Once a Facility is purchased, Lester Crest will contact the player, initiating the storyline and allowing them to start planning Act 1: The Data Breaches from the heist planning room within their Facility.
Each act has an initial setup cost that must be paid before prep missions can begin. See The Doomsday Heist Payout Details for more information on costs and potential earnings.
