The Diamond Casino Heist is a high-stakes, multi-faceted robbery added to Grand Theft Auto Online on December 12, 2019. Working with Lester Crest and Georgina Cheng, players plan a raid on The Diamond Casino & Resort vault through three distinct approaches. 1

Unlike previous heists, the Diamond Casino Heist is launched from a player-owned Arcade and offers significant replayability through its distinct approaches and variable vault contents.

Overview

The Diamond Casino Heist offers three main approaches to the casino vault. Each has its own mandatory and optional Prep Missions, support-crew choices and finale route. Additional reconnaissance and optional prep work can unlock more entry points, escape options and tactical advantages. 1

  • Prep Missions: These are generally completed in Freemode and involve sourcing equipment, vehicles, intel, or disrupting casino security. They can often be done solo, though playing with friends can speed up the process.
  • Finale Mission: The culmination of your chosen approach, this is a complex, multi-stage mission requiring a team of 2-4 players to execute the plan and escape with the loot.

After completing any approach for the first time, players can replay it or choose a different one. However, an approach cannot be repeated immediately; an alternative approach must be completed in between.

Completing one approach locks it for the next run. The approach used immediately before that becomes available in Hard Mode, with tougher conditions and a 10% increase to the potential take.

Starting The Diamond Casino Heist

To host The Diamond Casino Heist, meet Lester Crest in Mirror Park and purchase an Arcade property from Maze Bank Foreclosures. There are six Arcades at different locations and prices. 1

Once an Arcade is purchased and the initial setup missions with Lester Crest are completed, players can access the heist planning room in the basement of their Arcade to start planning their chosen approach.

Approaches

The Diamond Casino Heist offers three distinct approaches, each with its own strategic considerations and gameplay style:

The Silent & Sneaky Approach

This approach focuses on stealth and misdirection. The goal is to infiltrate the casino undetected, bypass security systems, and escape without raising an alarm. It requires careful planning, coordination, and precise execution.

The Aggressive Approach

This approach is a full-frontal assault. Players will use heavy firepower and explosives to breach the casino's defenses, fight their way to the vault, and secure the loot through direct confrontation.

The Big Con Approach

The Big Con approach relies on deception and disguise. Players will use elaborate schemes and outfits to infiltrate the casino, often blending in with staff or guests, to reach the vault with minimal direct conflict until the escape.

Vault Contents and Payouts

The potential payout depends on whether the vault contains Cash, Artwork, Gold or, during selected event periods, Diamonds. Hard Mode increases the potential take by 10%. Rockstar periodically makes Diamonds available or guarantees them for a limited event window. 2

There's also a daily award (and a little extra cash) you can grab while looting the vault, called the Daily Cash Grab Secret Vault.

Tips for Success

  • Scoping: Thoroughly scope out all Points of Interest (POIs) and Access Points around the casino. This unlocks more options for your prep and finale. See our POIs and Access Points Guide.
  • Arcade extras: The Master Control Terminal manages your other businesses but does not change the heist itself. The Drone Station adds drone access, while the Casino Model, Door Security and Vault Door extras help with reconnaissance or practice.
  • Communication: Clear communication with your team is crucial, especially for the Silent & Sneaky and The Big Con approaches.
  • Snacks and Armor: Always stock up on snacks and body armor before starting the finale, regardless of the approach.
