LSPD First Response, usually shortened to LSPDFR, turns the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V into a police simulation. Players can patrol, stop vehicles, pursue suspects and make arrests instead of following the game's usual criminal roles.1

What the mod adds

Community plugins and callouts extend the core police activities. Additional callouts are separate downloads, so installing LSPDFR does not install every scenario shown in community videos.1

For earlier development, see the LSPDFR 0.3 backup-system preview and arrest-system preview. Those reports describe their respective versions, not a complete list of today's features.

Legacy and Enhanced

Choose the download for the edition of GTA V installed on your PC. The main LSPD First Response download is for Legacy, with advertised support for Steam, Rockstar Games Launcher and Epic Games, but not the Xbox launcher version.1

Enhanced uses a separate LSPD First Response (Enhanced Preview) download. It is publicly available as a preview, with an advertised feature set that has not reached full Legacy parity. Some plugins and content modifications need updates for Enhanced; compatibility should be checked for the specific add-on rather than assumed.2

The similarly named LSPDFR Enhanced plugin is not the same thing as the project's Enhanced Edition preview. Check which product and game edition a download refers to before installing it.2

Release history

The first public release of LSPD First Response arrived in June 2015 for the PC version of GTA V. Version 0.1 introduced a basic policing framework with arrests, traffic stops, pursuits and backup options.3

Official downloads

Use the project's Legacy download or Enhanced Preview download, then follow its installation guidance and current game-build requirements. LSPDFR relies on RAGE Plugin Hook, whose compatibility updates are included in the project's release notes.1

For general background on modifying the PC game, see the GTA 5 mod installation guide. That guide does not replace the edition-specific LSPDFR instructions.
