Rockstar's attention to the smallest details in the second GTA 6 trailer pays off big.

Rockstar Games has officially taken the gloves off. Mere days after delaying Grand Theft Auto 6, Rockstar dropped the second GTA 6 trailer, completely taking over the internet. Over a year since the release of the first trailer, the new footage from the upcoming title is all everyone is speaking of - and it is loaded with details you might not spot at first.
The best part of all this? None of the details, from the updated GTA 6 website to the official trailer, were leaked beforehand. Rockstar even went as far as to poke fun at the leaks it has suffered in the past at the very start of the new trailer. We spent the last 24 hours or so poring over every frame, and we've had enough time to thoroughly examine all the details in GTA 6's latest footage.

Just like with the first trailer, digging deeper reveals so much more about Vice City, Leonida. The main difference between what we've seen before and the new footage is that the second GTA 6 trailer is less about the references to real-life events like the Florida Joker, among others, and more about the minute details that you'd likely miss at first glance.
Below is our breakdown of the small details that you might have missed in the second GTA 6 trailer:
Michael De Santa's Boat
Michael De Santa lost his boat, a Dinka Marquis, in Grand Theft Auto V after the events of the "Father/Son" mission despite getting help from Franklin Clinton. It remains one of the series' longest-running jokes. It's clear Rockstar is aware fans are curious to find out what happened to it based on the image below that you can find at the 2:10 mark of the trailer.

Tommy Vercetti Shirt
Jason Duval can be seen wearing the same iconic shirt worn by Tommy Vercetti just across the Ocean View Hotel in one of the artworks released by Rockstar. It's a clear homage to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and the late Ray Liotta.

RPG-Lite Elements
One of the reasons why Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was so iconic were its RPG-lite elements. Players could mold Carl Johnson and his stats to fit their playstyle. Unfortunately, this feature never returned in Grand Theft Auto 4 and Grand Theft Auto V so Rockstar could focus on the other gameplay aspects - until now.
As seen in various parts of the second GTA 6 trailer, Jason is either lifting weights, training, and Lucia Caminos can even be seen boxing in one of the official artworks. This suggests Rockstar is bringing back this fan-favorite mechanic for GTA 6.

Mini-Games
No need to fear running out of things to do in Vice City, because there's so much stuff for you to waste your time on! As confirmed by the official artworks, you'll be able to play mini golf, pool, basketball, go kayaking, scuba diving and dirt bike racing, among other activities.

PlayStation
It's no secret now that Rockstar and Sony indeed has a marketing deal for GTA 6. We don't know the specifics of this partnership yet (and we might never know more until many years down the road), but Rockstar is giving their long-time friends a shoutout in the trailer.
In the same shot showing Phil Cassidy (or someone who looks eerily like him) and Michael De Santa's boat, we can see an in-game version of the PlayStation 5. Oddly enough, the HD Universe's take on Sony's latest console is paired with what looks like a DualShock 4 controller. Perhaps these assets were all created before Sony revealed the official designs for the PS5 and DualSense?

Fast Five
Fast Five, released all the way back in 2011, is the movie that arguably kickstarted the current trajectory of the Fast and Furious franchise. Aside from introducing Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, it also upped the stakes, taking Vin Diesel's Dominic Torretto and the rest of the crew international.
The "family" goes from hi-jacking trucks and illegally smuggled DVD players to robbing Hernan Reyes by using a pair of Dodge Charger SRT8's to literally pull a huge vault filled with $100 million off the walls of a police station and dragging it all over Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
Instead of a pair of Bravado Buffalos, the trailer shows a similar scene but with lone unidentified Bravado truck pulling off the heist.

PS5 Footage
With the PS5 Pro expected to hike in price, now's as good of a time as any to get Sony's latest flagship console. The second GTA 6 trailer should further convince you to upgrade right now.
As confirmed at the end, the entire trailer comes from in-game footage on a base PS5. Can you imagine how much better GTA 6 would look on the PS5 Pro with incoming FSR 4-like technology support?

Spaceballs
After using Tom Petty's "Love is a Long Road" for the first GTA 6 trailer, Rockstar turned to another 80s classics this time around in The Pointer Sisters' "Hot Together". The same song is used in Mel Brooks' Spaceballs, a sci-fi comedy that satirical take on the original Star Wars trilogy. Similarly, Grand Theft Auto is infamous for its satirical take on modern American life.
#ev:youtube|Mh_OM3xkmyA_GTA 6_is currently set to release on May 26, 2026 on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. There's no mention of a PC release date, but we're aware that it's in development. Take-Two Interactive has also confirmed that it will be released eventually.
