Confirmed GTA 6 release date
Rockstar announced the current date on November 6, 2025, moving the game from its previous May 26, 2026 target to November 19, 2026.1 The current date is official, but it should still be described as scheduled rather than guaranteed: Rockstar can change a release plan again if development requires it.
The public timeline contains two delays, not three. The first trailer announced a broad 2025 window.2 Rockstar then set May 26, 2026 as the first specific date before moving it to the current November date.3

Confirmed platforms
Rockstar currently lists only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.4 That includes the PlayStation 5 version sold for the current console family; Rockstar has not announced a separate PS5 Pro edition or promised Pro-specific enhancements.
A PC version has not been announced. Rockstar's history makes a later PC release plausible, but any date remains speculation; our GTA 6 PC guide explains the precedent without presenting it as confirmation.

Preload, pre-orders, and physical availability
GTA 6 pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026. Rockstar says digital preloading begins at local midnight on November 12. Physical boxes are also expected from November 12, but they contain a download code rather than a disc.4 Our physical edition explainer covers what that means for buyers.

What Rockstar has not confirmed
Rockstar has not announced the exact time GTA 6 will unlock on November 19. The confirmed local-midnight timing applies to the November 12 preload, not necessarily to launch. A region-by-region unlock table would therefore be guesswork.
Rockstar also describes GTA 6 as a single-player experience and has not announced a launch date, entitlement model, or release schedule for a new online component.5 Our analysis of what Rockstar's single-player wording means is useful context, but it is not an official online release date.
