Tom Henderson makes it clear that he has no inside knowledge of Rockstar's plans for the game's reveal.

Very few industry insiders can claim to have leaked the correct information nearly every time they've released something, especially when it comes to Grand Theft Auto 6. Tom Henderson is one of them.

Since confirming that GTA 6 will launch in 2025 all the way back in 2021, Henderson's leaks about GTA 6 has been pretty much spot-on. So when he recently shared his thoughts about when we could hear about GTA 6 next, most believed that it was a confirmation that official GTA 6 news is coming soon.

But as it turns out, this is far from the case.

As clarified by Henderson himself on X, he never confirmed anything. Instead, he clarified that it was mere speculation on his part and that he has "zero knowledge" about what Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive are planning to do.

Henderson, along with Jason Schreier, are two of the most trusted leakers when it comes to Grand Theft Auto in recent memory. Although we could argue that Schreier might have found himself rubbing the wrong people off after initially leaking the official announcement of the first GTA 6 trailer back in 2023.

With that said, it doesn't take an industry insider to know that the next two weeks are going to be huge for GTA 6 .

So far, Rockstar's silence has been deafening. Even though former Rockstar North lead Obbe Vermeij perfectly explained why Rockstar prefers to stay silent, this has paved the way for all sorts of theories and wild guesses to hit the internet.

With April coming to an end soon, it's safe to say that the previous theories about the April Fool's Day reveal or the infamous "T-Shirt Theory" are all wrong.

This brings us to what's going to happen on May 15, the date for Take-Two's next earnings call.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed at the company's previous earnings call that GTA 6 is still set for a Fall 2025 release before explaining in a later interview that Take-Two intends to shorten their marketing cycles for their upcoming games.

Based on what's happening at the moment, with Mafia: The Old Country taking up much of the spotlight, including a May 8 PAX East appearance, it certainly seems like we might not hear about GTA 6 until after Borderlands 4 has launched on September 23. This means that it will be fighting for attention against another potential GOTY candidate in Ghost of Yotei, which Sony has confirmed is coming out on October 2.

So while we could indeed hear more about GTA 6 on May 15, don't expect anything more than a "Yes, GTA 6 is still on track for its original launch window" from Take-Two.

We'd be glad to be proven wrong but all signs indicate that GTA 6 won't be getting a lengthy marketing campaign compared to its predecessors.

How this will affect GTA 6's sales at launch remains to be seen.

For now, GTA fans can keep themselves busy by checking out the latest Grand Theft Auto Online update or replaying Grand Theft Auto V on PC with the release of Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced.
