Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick is predicting a surge in console sales with GTA 6's release.

Take-Two Interactive's latest earnings call is like a gift that keeps on giving. Aside from confirming that Grand Theft Auto 6 is still scheduled for fall 2025 and revealing potential plans for a Nintendo Switch 2 port of the game, it appears that one of the slides signal at a huge marketing push that all but guarantees we're going to see a new trailer for GTA 6 sooner rather than later.

Take-Two's latest financial projections reveal a significant increase in their marketing budget for the fiscal year 2026, which begins on April 1, 2025. The timing of this increased marketing spend aligns perfectly with Take-Two's typical promotional strategy for major releases. Historically, the company ramps up its marketing efforts in the months leading up to and following a game's launch, which is in line for GTA 6's release window in late 2025.

Take-Two has previously confirmed that GTA 6 will launch after the release of Mafia: The Old Country but before Borderlands 4. So, as soon as we start seeing more trailers and gameplay footage for Mafia: The Old Country, we can expect to see more of GTA 6 next.

It has been over a year since we got that first trailer, by the way!

It's important to note that Rockstar Games typically doesn't allocate a significant portion of its budget to trailers alone. The bulk of the marketing spend is usually reserved for more extensive promotional campaigns, including billboards, bus posters, and other high-visibility advertising methods that kick into gear closer to the game's release date.

So while this does suggest that we're getting a second GTA 6 trailer, it's highly more likely that we'll see more traditional forms of marketing as Rockstar tries to get GTA 6 in front of as many eyes as possible. Ads will definitely start popping up, and taking a look back at GTA 5's marketing might give an idea of what to expect.

As big of a game as GTA 6 is, Rockstar still needs to start building (more) hype and awareness at least six months before its eventual release. So if we assume that GTA 6 will hit the store shelves anytime between September and December 2025, the earliest we could get a second GTA 6 trailer is in April.

Interestingly, two new job listings on Rockstar's official website does suggest that marketing for GTA 6 will ramp up soon. The company has at least three openings related to marketing: Marketing Manager - Japan, Marketing Manager - South Korea, and Marketing Manager, Live Services.

With only two months away until the start of the next fiscal year, we won't have to wait too long. But all signs to point to GTA 6 getting much of the spotlight in the second half of the year.
