The creative fan used the 20-year-old version of the RAGE engine to rebuild GTA 6 Trailer 2 from scratch.
During the wait for Grand Theft Auto 6 to be released on May 26, 2026, we can expect fans and even Rockstar Games to start filling in the gap with entertaining releases. Among these creative endeavors, some will inevitably stand out - like this recreation of the second GTA 6 trailer in the engine of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Foosmoke, who previously gave the first GTA 6 trailer the same treatment, used GTA San Andreas to recreate most of the nearly three-minute footage. The creator also added their own creative touch, even using assets from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City to complete the entire project. We don't know what's more amazing. The fact that someone bothered to go through all the trouble of recreating GTA 6 trailer 2 on an older version of the RAGE engine or the fact that they were able to do it in such detail.
It'll be nearly a year until we all can get our hands on GTA 6 and that's assuming it isn't delayed again. With so much time left for the sixthquel to arrive, we're curious to find out how Rockstar will try to bridge the gap. Aside from recreations of the two GTA 6 trailers so far, content creators and modders have used the hype surrounding Grand Theft Auto for their projects.
NaturalVision Enhanced, for example, is a free mod for Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced (a free upgrade to Grand Theft Auto V on PC), that turns the decade-old game into a close fascimile of GTA 6, provided that your PC can run it. As for what Rockstar has planned, rumors suggest that a remaster of Grand Theft Auto IV is in development, but this re-release could also be nothing more than a port.
Another rumor is that Michael De Santa could return in Grand Theft Auto Online as he's the only one of the GTA V protagonists we haven't heard from since the conclusion of the single-player campaign. For what it's worth, Ned Luke has been happily feeding these rumors. It also lends weight to the speculations that we found potential proof of a connection between GTA 6 and Michael, even glimpses of what could be his long-lost boat.
