Take-Two Interactive has set its annual shareholder meeting for September 17, and if you are hoping that means a Grand Theft Auto VI surprise is coming, don't count on it. The company confirmed the virtual, audio-only meeting for 9 a.m. Eastern on Thursday. Despite the timing, weeks before GTA 6 launches, it is going to be about as thrilling as these types of corporate meetings can get, which is to say not at all.

This is more of a mandatory governance event, the kind every public company holds because they kind of have to. During these meetings, the shareholders will vote on a short list of formal proposals, including but not limited to electing directors, a non-binding advisory vote on executive pay, a charter tweak limiting certain officer liability under Delaware law, and rubber-stamping Ernst & Young as the auditor for the next fiscal year.

You know, riveting, breaking news stuff.

What to Expect from Take-Two Shareholder Meeting

On the agenda
Not on the agenda
Electing 10 directors

New GTA 6 trailers or gameplay

An advisory vote on executive pay
Release-date or marketing news
A charter amendment on officer liability
Sales guidance or financial reveals
Ratifying the auditor, Ernst & Young
Anything Rockstar has not already said

This is a routine governance vote. Do not expect GTA 6 news.

None of that is a stage for Grand Theft Auto _n_ews, and the meeting is not built for it. Everything Take-Two wants investors to know about GTA 6 is already out there, spread across its recent earnings calls, annual report, and the proxy documents for this very meeting. The proxy has already done the bragging about the numbers, strong fiscal 2026 results and Grand Theft Auto V selling 230 million units, framing GTA 6 as the engine of next year's growth.

Do not be shocked if GTA 6 gets a passing mention anyway. CEO Strauss Zelnick has never been shy about hyping the game, and a brief, upbeat line about the launch would be right on brand. A shareholder or two might ask about a potential delay or the record pre-orders, and management would answer politely and vaguely, repeating what's already public information in corporate speak.

When Take-Two wants to talk about pre-orders beating its forecasts or the effectively unlimited budget behind the game, it will happen at the next earnings call, with analysts on the line and guidance attached.

We recommend skipping the meeting entirely. It's a box-checking exercise, and the only GTA 6 moment on the agenda is the one on November 19 and Take-Two would very much like you to have pre-ordered it already.
