Rockstar Games is teasing a potential connection between GTA 5 and GTA 6 in the latest trailer.

If there's one thing we've learned over the years about Rockstar Games, it's that they don't do things unless they're sure of it.

So, when there's a clear reference to Grand Theft Auto 5 that appears in the latest footage for Grand Theft Auto 6, you'd best bet that fans will notice immediately.

Case in point, more evidence that Jason Duval might have his hands on the missing boat of none other than Michael De Santa.

We pointed this out in our round-up of minute details that most might have missed in the second GTA 6 trailer. A picture in Jason's apartment shows a boat that looks a lot like the Marquis but it seems that we missed out arguably the most obvious one.

Because, you see, a few seconds into the trailer, after Rockstar pokes fun at the 2022 hacking incident and the 2023 trailer leak, we catch a glimpse of what definitely looks like the tip of Michael's beloved boat.

Then, at the 22-second mark, we can see much clearly that it's the same boat that the GTA V protagonist lost during a storyline mission, as pointed out by r/ittsalexpm on Reddit.

Rockstar has done an excellent job connecting every Grand Theft Auto title while making each their own thing. Aside from the occasional reference and cameo, the events of a previous GTA title very rarely factor into what's going on in the next one.

So don't Rockstar to start changing things even if it's for GTA 6.

But the very fact that the same boat appears in the second GTA 6 trailer is, no doubt, a deliberate choice made by Rockstar to tease fans at the potential appearance of Ned Luke in the sixthquel.

The GTA actor recently talked about potentially coming back to Grand Theft Auto Online. He even replied to the recent theories that Michael's daughter, Tracey De Santa, was featured in the first GTA 6 trailer.

So far, Ned Luke is the only one of the three GTA V protagonists who hasn't returned to GTA 6 yet. Maybe the reason for this is because Rockstar wants to save him for an actual appearance in GTA 6?

What if the former life-long criminal finds his way into Vice City, perhaps searching for his long-lost boat? Could you imagine if Jason was the one who stole it?

Steven Ogg might be the one who has a crazy cameo idea for his character, Trevor Philips, but we wouldn't rule out a potentially fatal encounter between Michael and Jason should push come to shove.

Michael, after all, really loved his boat.

With over a year to go until GTA 6 comes out in May 26, 2026, it'll be a while before we find out the truth behind what happened to Michael's boat after the events of GTA V (and that's if Rockstar ever addresses it!).

In the meantime, you might want to get a PS5 Pro as soon as possible. If the tariffs can't convince you, then maybe this will.
