Michael De Santa and Tracey De Santa have yet to reappear in GTA Online.
A few days ago, we covered a plausible theory about how Tracey De Santa could possibly have been teased in the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer. Now, the real-life actor behind the character's in-game father has reacted. Ned Luke, who portrayed Michael De Santa in Grand Theft Auto V, just replied to a recent tweet talking about the theory with the facepalm emoji.
While this doesn't confirm anything, the fact that the 66-year-old actor actually took the time out of the day to reply to the tweet, especially after he just went viral himself for apparently shooting down hopes of joining Grand Theft Auto Online, is interesting. This could be his way of feeling disappointed about all the theories that Grand Theft Auto fans have been coming up with in the absence of official news from Rockstar Games.
At the same time, his reply is pretty on brand for his GTA V character. You could take it as a disapproving father who isn't too happy with his daughter and her most recent life choices. Tracey and Michael doesn't have the best relationship, even though Tracey shows signs that she cares a lot about her career criminal father.
If we go by the timeline of GTA Online and how it takes place in the current year, GTA 6 could be set in 2025, over a decade after the events of GTA V. Based on the generally considered canonical ending to GTA 5, the "Third Way" or Ending C, the last we heard about Tracey was that she was studying for college and Michael had considered turning Tracey into a movie star in case he becomes a famous movie producer.
While Tracey doesn't appear in GTA Online unlike her younger brother Jimmy De Santa, reruns of her episode on Fame or Shame where she sang "Daddy Issues" continue to be played and she gets a line of clothing merchandise that players can actually buy. For all intents and purposes, Tracey is alive in the current GTA timeline.
It is possible that the "Mud Girl" from the first GTA 6 trailer is the modern-day version of Tracey, who's now enjoying the time of her life in Vice City as a celebrity. Of course, this is all just a theory. Until GTA 6 comes out later this year, we have no way of confirming this is true or not.
Speaking of GTA 6, the recent release of the remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion may have just proved that Sony and Rockstar have partnered up to market GTA 6.
