It's not for a new game, but Michael and Franklin's actors have teamed up for a hilarious new commercial that's full of nods to their famous roles.

The stars have finally aligned for some of our favorite Grand Theft Auto protagonists to appear on screen together again for another time.

In the latest commercial for the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally, Ned Luke and Shawn Fonteno, who play Michael De Santa and Franklin Clinton in Grand Theft Auto V, respectively, hint at their in-game characters all the while selling the upcoming handheld desktop as a way to enjoy the holidays even more.

As confirmed by ASUS, the gaming-themed video is part of their ROG Travel series, which are also part of their family of videos used to "cheekily promote" their latest product line.

To be honest, what we're more surprised is that there isn't an official collaboration between Rockstar Games and ASUS to market the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X. The Windows 11-powered PC holds an edge over the Steam Deck because it's more compatible with more games, including Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced.

It's worth noting that the latest GTA V edition is no longer supported on Linux-powered devices as of late last year because of the anti-cheat program, BattleEye.

With GTA V continuing to sell millions of units every quarter, positioning the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X as the go-to console for the still-popular 2013 title would be quite the draw.

Because of GTA V's popularity, Ned Luke, Shawn Fonteno, and Steven Ogg, who plays the third GTA V protagonist, Trevor Philips, will forever be linked with their in-game characters.

To be fair, outside of rumors and speculations, all three seem to love the attention they continue to get over a decade since starring in their now-iconic roles. Rockstar also deserves praise for seemingly not taking issue to both Ned and Shawn hinting at their in-game characters in ROG's series of ads, among others.

Unfortunately, based on how Rockstar handles previous protagonists, it's highly unlikely that we'll see either one of them appear in Grand Theft Auto VI. But, then again, we did just see what appears to be Michael's boat in the second GTA 6 trailer, and Ogg did publicly call out his desire to cameo, so who knows?

In other GTA news, Rockstar's logo was just spotted at Gamescom 2025. Although many are arguing that Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive have always had a form of "unannounced" presence at these events, the prominence of the Rockstar logo suggests that something could be brewing.
