March 25 is the latest in a growing list of dates potentially linked to Grand Theft Auto 6.
What if we told you that Rockstar Games is about to break its years-long silence regarding Grand Theft Auto 6 in a few days? You probably won't believe us, but it's the latest "truth" that the internet is trying to peddle as it tries to make sense of the frustrating but completely characteristic lack of GTA 6 news from Rockstar.
The two main parts of this theory is a series of posts by an anonymous user on Reddit from November 2024, and Game Informer returning from the dead. After Game Informer first confirmed that something is coming on March 25 (we don't really know what, but the publication has a history of breaking Grand Theft Auto news ahead of everyone else), fans dug up several comments by u/ZestycloseAd6898 on Reddit that, for no reason, says "25 03 25".
The same user is now more active than ever on Reddit, further fueling speculations that they're either an insider who knows that something big is on its way, but it's also possible that they're an elaborate troll trying to squeeze out as much attention from their five minutes of internet fame as they can.
Coming a full 12 years after Grand Theft Auto V, GTA 6 promises to return to a bigger and better-looking Vice City, now part of the larger Leonida state. The first trailer only whetted appetites for more information, leaving fans hungry for any new details about the game. With only a few days away from March 25 (or a day, depending on where you live), many are expecting GTA 6 news to drop sooner rather than later.
For what it's worth, aside from March 25, Rockstar might reveal a new trailer and possibly an official release date on April 1, or sometime in April, or perhaps it's Take-Two Interactive who will finally confirm if GTA 6 is delayed in May. Those dates are all further into the future. For now, it wouldn't hurt to focus on March 25.
Will the anonymous leaker's prediction come true? Will Game Informer's tease lead to a major reveal? Or will Rockstar continue to play its cards close to the chest, leaving fans disappointed yet again?
Regardless of what happens on March 25, it's only becoming more justified why some developers like Xbox and Electronic Arts are fearful of releasing a game close to GTA 6. Despite the lack of official information, Rockstar's brand continues to dominate conversations on the internet, living up to the "king" description from former Microsoft executive Mike Ybarra.
