The alleged Grand Theft Auto VI collector's box that surfaced last week has new photos, and they make it look a lot more like a press kit than a collector's edition. A fan account posting as @SourceVI shared what it billed as an "exclusive" closer look at the box's contents, after reportedly contacting the Reddit user who first spread the images.
Going by those photos, you'll find a branded T-shirt, a trucker cap, a sticker sheet, a keyring and a welcome card inside the box. These are nice items that Grand Theft Auto fans would love to have, but they are also the kind of thing publishers routinely mail to creators and press before a big launch. These are different from the statues, art books and steelbooks, among other things, that typically define an actual collector's edition.

Rockstar Games has said nothing about it and they have no reason to change plans based on how well the Ultimate Edition is selling right now. So while the box could be real promo packaging made in volume for media personnel who Rockstar will reportedly fly in tor review GTA 6, it could be something else entirely.
It also doesn't help that the two sets of photos don't come from the same source. The outer box came from that September 9 post, since scrubbed from the face of the internet. The inside shots, the swag itself, only surfaced three days later, and not on Reddit at all. They spread through a cluster of fan accounts, each billing its version as an "exclusive" and each one claiming to have privately messaged the Reddit user behind the box images for a closer look.
When that many accounts all claim the same exclusive from the same anonymous conversation and you can't trace none of the photos back to a public post before those accounts ran them, it stops holding any credible weight. It does not make the images fake. It does mean the sourcing is doubtful and sketchy, to put it plainly.
Even if the box is completely real though, it doesn't change anything. Rockstar has still only announced two editions, the $79.99 Standard and the $99.99 Ultimate, and the "physical" Standard is a code in a box with no disc. A crate of creator swag is not the retail collector's edition thousands have been searching for.
So, the gist here is that there is apparently a GTA 6 box with the words Leonida and Vice City plastered all over it, there is a lot of hope riding on it and there is still no official word that anyone outside a press list will ever get one.
Until Rockstar says otherwise, it looks like promotional material rather than a product anyone can buy before November.
