The Grand Theft Auto VI "Vice City Collection" is real, but it is not what a lot of fans were hoping for. Rockstar Games has confirmed the previously datamined item as a $399.99 premium merch box that contains a lot of, admittedly, must-have items for fans. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the actual game in it - there is no disc or download code inside.
So, while this is technically a release made for collectors, this is not the traditional 'Collector's Edition' that fans have been asking about. It is a box of high-end merchandise, 11 items themed around Macca the Gator, a fictional Leonida TV show. Rockstar is leaning all the way into the Vice City party-lifestyle vibe rather than a Jason or Lucia statue. According to the official announcement, it ships on November 19, the game's launch day, limited to one per customer while supplies last.

Honestly, there's a lot of value to be had here. The poster, in particular, looks like the sleeper item of the bunch. It is double-sided, with Macca the Gator artwork on the front and a full official map of Leonida on the back. It's the closest thing to a large-format official GTA 6 map fans have gotten this early.
For the map-obsessed, it might be the single most interesting thing in the box. Rockstar even frames it as something for planning a road trip. Most of the collection is wearables and desk pieces. The map is the part players will pore over.
The collabs are the other standout. The sunglasses are real Oakley Frogskins with Prizm lenses and the hat is a real New Era snapback, both branded for GTA 6. Those are not cheap plastic throw-ins, and they show that Rockstar treating this as lifestyle merch that can live outside gaming circles, closer to a fashion drop than a typical game bundle.
The price is easily the most contentious part here. At $400 with no game, before shipping, this is a lot to ask. However, with this pricing, Rockstar is making it clear to us without saying it outright that this is a premium merch box, closer to the GTA 6 vinyl and other lifestyle products than to a game edition. For collectors who already plan to buy the game separately and want quality wearables and a display figure, the collabs and the map might justify the cost. For everyone else, it is an easy pass.
So, yeah, the mystery box that leaked earlier isn't a press kit. It's real. It's just not the missing edition, so much as a step around it. The datamine had the shape of it right, heavy, limited and timed to launch. Rockstar filled in the rest, a $400 party-in-a-box for people who want to wear Vice City's colors loud and proud.
