Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced has finally arrived on PC, bringing with it a host of improvements including ray tracing support and faster loading times. However, the transition hasn't been as smooth as Rockstar Games had hoped. Players are encountering numerous issues during the upgrade progress, resulting in the latest version of Grand Theft Auto V getting mixed reviews on Steam.

Rockstar has implemented a save file upload in Grand Theft Auto V Legacy to facilitate the transition to GTA Enhanced, which we discussed in our guide, but it isn't perfect.

The root cause of the GTA Enhanced migration issues appears to be multifaceted. Some accounts have been flagged due to the use of unapproved modifications or hacks, rendering them ineligible for transfer.

All of this isn't surprising considering Take-Two Interactive has always had a strict stance against online modding, which only intensified in recent months with take downs of mod menus, fan projects, and the introduction of BattlEye.

If you're one of those players, we've got a handful of remedies available that may work.

Migrating GTA Online Account to GTA Enhanced

Check via the official Rockstar service status page if the servers are online. Sometimes, migration might not work simply because the servers are down.

Do not use a different Rockstar Games account. Use the same Rockstar Social Club a count that you linked to your PC profile previously.

Contact Rockstar Games Customer Support and ask if your account is restricted. Rockstar may block your account from transferring if it has a history of cheating.

Conversely, you may contact and submit a ticket to Rockstar Games Customer Support if you're unable to migrate your account from GTA V Legacy even if it doesn't have a restriction.

Remember that Rockstar only released GTA V Enhanced earlier this week. The sheer volume of players attempting to access the Enhanced Edition has undoubtedly put significant strain on Rockstar's servers. This might explain the timeouts and failed transfers.

Unfortunately, there are no alternatives to completely resetting your progress if you're unable to migrate from saved file from GTA V Legacy to GTA V Enhanced.

In the meantime, you may want to keep an eye on official Rockstar channels for updates and potential workarounds.
