Take-Two's direct DMCA takedown leaves fans to experience Vice City through official channels only.

That didn't take long - It looks like there's no rest for Take-Two Interactive and its army of lawyers after it issued a copyright claim and took down the trailer for GTA Vice City: Next-Gen Edition. We can't say we're surprised but we are definitely disappointed.

Revolution Team recently released a trailer for the upcoming mod, which, in a nutshell, put Grand Theft Auto: Vice City inside Grand Theft Auto IV, allowing players to experience the 2002 classic unlike never before.

Based on the trailer, everything about the mod would've completely turned it into the best way to experience the 3D Universe title, with updated graphics, physics, and a total recreation of everything that made the game so iconic, cheat codes included.

Unfortunately, after going viral for several days following the release of its launch trailer, GTA Vice City: Next-Gen Edition caught the attention of Rockstar Games' parent company.

As of the moment of writing, the original trailer is no longer available, with the video now saying: "The video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Take-Two Interactive." Revolution Team's official YouTube channel wasn't spared either.

What's interesting here is the sudden nature of the takedown. Unlike what happened with the Liberty City Preservation Project, Take-Two appears to have issued a straight-up DMCA takedown of GTA Vice City: Next-Gen Edition.

With the aforementioned mod, which recreated Liberty City, the official setting of GTA 4, in Grand Theft Auto V, its developers and Take-Two came to an amicable agreement. This even led to rumors that Rockstar is set to release a remaster of GTA 4, something that has been rumored for a long time.

Revolution Team has yet to issue a statement regarding the situation on its various social media channels on Instagram and VK. For now, fans who want to experience GTA: Vice City with updated graphics will have to play it the official way, individually or as part of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.
