Hao's Special Works (HSW) is the vehicle workshop inside the LS Car Meet that gives 31 eligible cars and motorcycles exclusive performance and visual upgrades in Grand Theft Auto Online. The HSW conversion is bought separately from the vehicle, and further HSW parts can add to the final bill.

Which versions of GTA Online have Hao's Special Works?
HSW launched on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with Grand Theft Auto V Expanded and Enhanced on March 15, 2022. It became available on PC when the free Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced upgrade arrived on March 4, 2025.
You can use HSW on:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
- PC Enhanced
It is not available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC Legacy. Those versions still have the regular LS Car Meet Mod Shop and the later Car Meet Specification Service, but not HSW conversions, HSW Races, HSW Time Trials or Premium Test Rides.
How to unlock Hao's Special Works
Use a supported version of GTA Online, visit the LS Car Meet in Cypress Flats and buy the GTA$50,000 membership from Mimi if you do not already have one. You can then take an eligible vehicle into the Mod Shop and select HSW Performance Upgrade.
Hao's introductory Time Trial is no longer mandatory. Title Update 1.64 removed that requirement in December 2022, so returning players do not need to repeat it before using the workshop. The intro is still worth completing because beating Hao's time awards one free HSW conversion, which can save well over GTA$1 million on an expensive vehicle.
What the HSW Performance Upgrade changes
The conversion opens a second set of upgrades beyond the vehicle's normal Los Santos Customs parts. Depending on the model, Hao can add stronger brakes, engine tuning, lower suspension, upgraded transmission and several stages of turbo tuning. Electric vehicles receive HSW driving modes in place of parts that do not apply to them.
HSW also adds model-specific visual choices such as liveries, spoilers, forged-carbon body parts and other exterior pieces. The exact menu differs between vehicles: a motorcycle does not receive the same bodywork as a car, while an electric car does not use a conventional transmission or turbo.
Buying the conversion does not include the base vehicle, and it does not make every additional HSW part free. Budget for the vehicle price, the conversion shown below and any performance or cosmetic parts you add afterward.

The current HSW roster contains 31 vehicles. The prices below are for the HSW conversion only, not the vehicle itself.
The table does not rank the vehicles. Top speed, lap time, traction and handling all affect which one is best for a particular race, and the newest cars need comparable testing before they can be placed fairly.
The HSW Time Trial column shows the performance group used to set that vehicle's par time. It is not a general ranking and does not control ordinary HSW Race results.

Pegassi Horus availability and cost
The Pegassi Horus joined the HSW list on September 10, 2026. GTA+ members can claim it free from The Vinewood Car Club with the Velvet Iris livery during the current benefit period, one week before general sales open on September 17. Its listed purchase price is GTA$2,810,000 and its HSW conversion costs another GTA$1,750,000, bringing the two together to GTA$4,560,000 before further modifications.
The Horus sits in the Super class and HSW Time Trial group A. It also supports the Missile Lock-On Jammer, giving players a defensive reason to consider it beyond its untested place in the performance rankings.
HSW Races
The HSW Race Series contains 20 circuits on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC Enhanced. Each race accepts HSW-upgraded vehicles, and the set includes both short city circuits and longer routes across Los Santos and Blaine County. The series grew from its original 14 tracks to 20 HSW circuits.
HSW conversion eligibility does not make a vehicle the fastest choice for every track. A high straight-line speed helps on long freeway sections, while braking, traction and cornering matter more on tight circuits. HSW Time Trials
One of eight HSW Time Trial courses is featured each event week. The routes begin at East Vinewood, Del Perro Beach, Sandy Shores, Textile City, RON Alternates, Terminal, Pacific Bluffs and North Chumash. You can take any route between the start and finish, so setting a waypoint and checking the map before launching the trial can save a failed attempt.
Groups A, B and C receive different par times on the same course. The group is a balancing tool for the trial, not a verdict on the vehicle's overall performance. Completing all eight courses unlocks the option to purchase the HSW Elite livery for compatible vehicles.
The Weaponized Ignus is the exception in the roster. It can receive an HSW conversion, but it has not been accepted in HSW Time Trials since The Criminal Enterprises. If the start marker rejects your vehicle, use another converted vehicle instead of assuming the workshop upgrade failed.

Premium Test Rides and Specification Service
Hao places one converted Premium Test Ride beside the Test Track each event week. You can drive it without buying the base vehicle or its HSW conversion, making it the easiest way to feel the difference before committing several million GTA$. The featured model changes with the weekly event.
The HSW Specification Service serves a different purpose. Park an eligible Personal Vehicle in the LS Car Meet and another player can buy a separate copy with the same compatible modifications, rather than trying to recreate the build part by part. The buyer pays for the copied vehicle; the original remains with its owner. Weaponized and otherwise restricted vehicles may not be available to copy.
PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC Legacy received their own Car Meet Specification Service in December 2023. It also lets players purchase copies of eligible Personal Vehicles, but those versions cannot carry HSW conversions or HSW-only parts. The similar name describes the buying service, not access to Hao's performance workshop.

Can I buy another player's HSW vehicle at the LS Car Meet?
You can buy a separate copy of an eligible Personal Vehicle through the HSW Specification Service. The copy keeps compatible modifications, while the other player retains the original. Restricted and weaponized vehicles may not be available.
