Jason Duval is one of the two protagonists in Grand Theft Auto VI. He is an Army veteran who works for drug runners in the Leonida Keys, where his life changes after meeting Lucia Caminos.1
Background
Jason grew up around grifters and criminals. He joined the Army while trying to leave his troubled teenage years behind, but later returned to crime in the Keys. By the beginning of GTA VI, he is working for local drug runners and considering a different path.1
Brian Heder lets Jason stay at one of his properties without paying rent. In return, Jason helps with local shakedowns.1
Partnership with Lucia
Meeting Lucia could offer Jason the easier life he wants or make his circumstances worse. When a robbery goes wrong, the pair become caught in a criminal conspiracy across Leonida and must rely on each other to survive.1
Jason and Lucia can take on jobs together or head off separately. On a shared drive, you can move from Jason at the wheel to Lucia in the passenger seat, then switch between driving and shooting during a chase.4
Their relationship develops through messages, dates, shared activities and jobs together. The romantic side is optional, and they continue to support each other through the main story even when their bond is strained.5
When you play as Lucia, Jason follows his own routine. Switching back can find him at the safehouse or out doing something else. You can call or text him to meet up, and the pair can shop, exercise or take part in activities together. Responding to messages helps maintain their relationship; ignoring them can put strain on it.
Jason can drive while you control Lucia as a passenger, including during an escape where she fires at pursuing police. The pair support each other in confrontations whether or not you maintain their romance.
Food, exercise and sleep also affect Jason's appearance. Eating changes his weight, workouts build muscle, and long nights or prolonged pursuits take a visible toll. Clothes and accessories add another way to shape his look; he wears Nola clothing, a This/That top and Caliber jewellery.4
Criminal Profile
Jason has a separate Criminal Profile from Lucia, so the two can follow different approaches to crime in the same playthrough. Its named states include Professional and Psycho. First reveal
Jason appeared alongside Lucia in Trailer 1, including scenes set in and around Vice City.2 Trailer 2 later expanded their story and life in Leonida.3
Voice actor
Jason's voice actor has not been announced. Troy Baker denied that he voiced Jason, while a later resume entry prompted speculation about Gregory Joseph Connors.
