Background

Brian comes from the golden age of drug smuggling in the Keys. He recalls hauling marijuana by plane, and his boat yard remains part of his operation. Years in the trade have left him in a position to send others out for the dangerous work.1

The launch trailer shows a waterfront boat-storage business signed Brian’s Marina, with boats stacked in outdoor racks.5

Jimmy Canto

Brian tells Jason that he and his friend Jimmy Canto once sneaked into a fairground and got its carousel running. When Jimmy pushed it faster and faster, Brian jumped off, but Jimmy stayed on, cracked his head and died that night. Brian uses the story to warn Jason that he needs to know when to walk away.2

Personality and Traits

Brian's relaxed beach-bum appearance sits beside a harder approach to business: he can offer Jason a place to live, but attaches shakedown work to the deal. His Jimmy Canto story also warns Jason about the cost of staying with a dangerous situation too long.12

Physical Appearance

Brian appears in Grand Theft Auto 6 Second Trailer. He has gray hair and a beard, and wears sunglasses in one of Rockstar's character images.

Stephen Root has confirmed that he voices a character in GTA VI, while Variety identifies that character as Brian Heder. Root did not name Brian during the interview, so the casting is reported rather than directly confirmed by the actor.34

Family

Lori is Brian's third wife and works with him at the boat yard. Jason is also expected to stop by for her sangria.1

Friends and Associates

Brian lets Jason Duval stay at one of his properties rent-free in exchange for help with local shakedowns. Cal Hampton is also an associate of Brian's.1
