Rockstar Games has finally released the Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer, exactly 35 days before the game arrives on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. It runs about a minute and a half, so there is a lot of quick cutting, but enough shows up to say a few concrete things.
Rockstar says the whole trailer was captured in-game on a PS5. Some fans may call this Trailer 3, but Rockstar has not used that label. It follows the second trailer and the longer showcase that came after, and it mostly confirms things rather than introducing new ones.
The music is the one clearly new element. The trailer debuts "Flower in a Hurricane," a single by the French electronic duo Justice, who also composed the game's original score. The track features Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and it will also appear on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, which launches alongside the game. You can pre-save it on streaming services now, and vinyl and CD pre-orders are open.
Story-wise, the trailer gives us a little of Jason's backstory. In voice-over, he says he ran into trouble in the army and left early, though the reason is never stated. Most of the trailer is Jason and Lucia in the middle of jobs, working alongside characters such as Raul and Cal. The bank heist gets the most screen time, including a shot of the vault. An earlier look had hinted at it, and this trailer shows helicopters flying part of that vault into a building. Elsewhere, Lucia hangs from a plane's landing gear, and Jason fights someone on a hovercraft.
The most important detail is probably Lucia's ankle monitor, which confirms a long-running rumor by showing how it looks in the game itself for the first time. Rockstar has said in interviews that the monitor plays a real role in the story, so it is not just there for decoration.
The trailer also spends time on Jason and Lucia as a couple, not just as partners in crime. There is banter beside their car and a shower scene where the two are kissing and pressed against the wall, with background dialogue that reveals some story details. Rockstar has not hidden that the game contains sex scenes, and its age rating says the same. Based on previews and this trailer, those scenes appear to be framed so nothing explicit is shown.

Not much here is new, honestly. It is a mood piece that shows how the game looks, how it sounds, and what kind of trouble the two leads get into. After the delay to November 19, though, the more useful signal is that Rockstar says the game is running on a PS5 this close to launch.
