The seven-time Formula One World Drivers' Champion ranked GTA 5 over Mario Kart 64

Ahead of the start of this week's F1 Miami Grand Prix, Ferrari uploaded a video on their official YouTube channel featuring Formula One drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc ranking their favorite classic video games.

After much deliberation, both of them chose Grand Theft Auto V as the best game.

Charles described GTA 5 as "so good" with Lewis agreeing, saying that it's "the best game." The pair then talked about Grand Theft Auto 6, with the 7-time world champion saying that he'll have to "quit everything else."

Interestingly enough, Charles mentioned that GTA 6 is "coming out very soon", expressing his excitement for the sixthquel.

Other games that made it to the list are Mario Kart 64, Gran Turismo 3, and Fortnite.

Of course, while the video does describe GTA 5 and the other games in the video as a "classic", the 2013 title remains very much alive today. Thanks to Grand Theft Auto Online, Rockstar Games continues to update GTA 5 even with GTA 6 just right around the corner.

As for the sequel, while Charles did say that it won't be long before it will be available to play, it still isn't a sure thing that GTA 6 will indeed come out later this year.

While Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick insisted back in February that GTA 6 is still set for a Fall 2025 release, the lack of official news since the release of the first trailer has been a major cause for concern among fans.

This silence from Rockstar and Take-Two has turned what should be a routine earnings call May 15 into a critical moment as Zelnick is expected to reveal whether or not GTA 6 is still on track for a late 2025 release or not.

If GTA 6 is delayed, it will have serious implications on the gaming industry as a whole, including Take-Two's surging stock value.

Several video game developers have already adjusted their timelines to avoid colliding with what some industry insiders have described as a "huge meteor" and an "iceberg."

However, there's a possibility that Rockstar and Take-Two are being deliberate in withholding GTA 6 news as part of Take-Two's new marketing strategy.

Despite having already earmarked a huge chunk of their budget to market their upcoming games, Zelnick mentioned in a Bloomberg interview that they're trying something new by shortening their usually lengthy marketing cycles.

Former Rockstar North lead Obbe Vermeij agreed with this sentiment in a separate interview, predicting that Rockstar will release the second and last GTA 6 trailer no more than two months before the game is released.

Based on this timeline, the next trailer for GTA 6 won't be out until September or October after both Mafia: The Old Country and Borderlands 4 have been released.

By then, Hamilton might already be an eight-time Formula One world champion, breaking the record he currently holds with Michael Schumacher.
