Grand Theft Auto Online's much awaited winter update, A Safehouse in the Hills, is finally here. With it come three purchasable mansions scattered across Los Santos' wealthiest neighborhoods, but as is always the case with these major content updates, the list of fresh new features hardly ends there. Cars, missions, countless new things to unlock and buy - here's your rundown of everything new.

Each mansion property comes with a 20-car garage, a rooftop helipad with a free helicopter, and enough customization options to keep interior decorators busy for hours. The three locations are the Richman Villa between Los Santos and Vinewood Hills, the Tongva Estate overlooking the Pacific Ocean near Marlowe vineyard, and the Vinewood Residence with city views under the famous sign. All three share the same amenities but differ in scenery and location.

The Richman Villa is located between Los Santos and Vinewood Hills.

Inside your new mansion, you'll find a master control terminal for managing businesses remotely, an office space, and optional add-ons like an armory, arcade room, and vehicle workshop. The property includes a barber and tattoo artist, so you can change your appearance without leaving home. Outside, there's yoga equipment and gym gear for temporary stat boosts, plus a pool and hot tub. You can also adopt dogs or cats as nameable companions.

The standout feature is the AI assistant concierge. You can pick from three personalities, and this virtual butler will handle tasks like delivering champagne, organizing mansion parties, fast traveling you to other properties, and boosting production at your businesses for 24 hours. The assistant's combination of helpfulness and programmed servitude fits perfectly into GTA's satirical tone.

Players who completed the three New Listings Missions before this update qualify for a GTA$2,000,000 discount on any mansion through January 7. That's a massive chunk off what are multi-million dollar properties - but you'll still be paying a pretty penny for your new dream home.

Whatever the main theme might me, you can't have a GTA Online update without cars. The Mansions update also introduces several new vehicles, including the Pfister X-treme, the Übermacht Sentinel XS4, and the classic Grotti GT750. GTA+ subscribers benefit from early access to the Vapid FMJ MK this week and can add special upgrades through their enhanced vehicle workshop.

There's a new mission series called KnoWay Out that has you working with Avi Schwartzman to dismantle a surveillance network run by an autonomous vehicle company. The story involves infiltrating test vehicles, stopping an automated train system takeover, and escaping authorities. It supports one to four players and pays an extra GTA$400,000 bonus if you complete it as the leader this week. You don't need a mansion to play these missions, but owning one apparently raises the stakes somehow.

The most important addition for creative players is the Rockstar Mission Creator. This toolkit lets you build custom missions from scratch with objectives, story elements, and branching paths. Rockstar Games included five example missions to teach the basics of stealth sections and complex objective chains. You access the creator through the pause menu, and Rockstar says they'll feature the best community creations.

The update also adds four new emotes, a random getaway driver event, and missile lock-on jammer capability for 50 more vehicles, including non-weaponized aircraft. GTA+ members now get remote staff management through the Vinewood Club App for hangars, warehouses, and bail offices, plus half-price HSW upgrades.

Michael and Amanda De Santa appear as NPCs once you buy a mansion, with Michael potentially helping you out during gameplay. Even better news is that Rockstar is planning more content for the coming months, including holiday events, additional vehicles, and new game modes.
