Hao's Special Works (HSW) adds high-performance vehicle conversions, HSW Races, HSW Time Trials and Premium Test Rides to Grand Theft Auto Online. It launched with Grand Theft Auto V Expanded and Enhanced on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on March 15, 2022 1, then arrived on PC with Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced on March 4, 2025 2.

The HSW workshop is inside the LS Car Meet. Hao can convert eligible vehicles before fitting HSW-specific performance and visual upgrades that are unavailable on the PS4, Xbox One and PC Legacy versions.

What Hao's Special Works Adds

HSW expands the car meet introduced with Los Santos Tuners with faster vehicle builds and activities designed around them. The workshop handles the conversion and retains the usual LS Car Meet customization options.

Vehicle Features

  • HSW Performance Upgrades for eligible cars and motorcycles.
  • Additional acceleration, handling, braking and top-speed modifications after conversion.
  • HSW visual options, including liveries and Chameleon Paint choices on supported vehicles.
  • A rotating Premium Test Ride that can be driven on the Test Track and purchased from the car meet.
  • New HSW vehicles and conversions added through later GTA Online updates.

Races and Time Trials

  • HSW Races restricted to vehicles with an HSW Performance Upgrade.
  • A rotating HSW Time Trial built around the higher performance of converted vehicles.

How to Unlock HSW

After Hao calls, complete his introductory time trial and beat the par time. His workshop then opens at the LS Car Meet, where eligible vehicles can receive the HSW conversion before the remaining upgrades are fitted.

The HSW Race Series and HSW Time Trials also require a converted vehicle. Legacy editions of GTA Online do not include the workshop or its activities.
