Sometimes the best strategy is simply refusing to take no for an answer.

Migrating your Grand Theft Auto Online character from an older version of Grand Theft Auto V should be a relatively straightforward experience - except it isn't. As several players found out the hard way, the process is not without its risks. Luckily, one victim managed to recoup all damages through the sheer power of annoyance.

Over the years, players looking to migrate their progress from the PlayStation 4 to the PlayStation 5, or Xbox One to Xbox Series S/X, or Grand Theft Auto V Legacy to Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced have found this process to be a bit of a struggle.

Sometimes, you simply just can't migrate your character to the upgraded version of platform, effectively throwing away hundreds if not thousands of hours worth of effort. While it's easy to think that all hope is lost when that happens, one Reddit user proved that there's always a way.

As shared by u/nextnerb on r/gtaonline, they found a way to recover their account from Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced Edition on Grand Theft Auto V Expanded and Enhanced. How? Simply by asking Rockstar Games Support. Again, and again, and again.

According to the user, persistence is the key. After being told that it was no longer possible to migrate their account, they revealed that they "sent like 10 follow up messages trying to negotiate" and eventually, Rockstar Games Support escalated the issue and "brought in the level 2 guy."

Although the user didn't exactly get everything from their previous account, Rockstar Games Support Tier 2 agent Dylan A did give them Rank 87 and GTA$31,206,068, which is the monetary equivalent of all the progress they've made previously.

The rest of the thread shows users revealing how this approach has worked for several other users over the years. Others are sharing that the secret is to "stay polite" while also reaching out every day. True enough, we've previously covered how Rockstar Games Support has always been generous about helping out Grand Theft Auto players, especially if they're civil with their concerns.

So if you're having difficulty with migrating your GTA Online accounts, you might want to reach out to Rockstar Games Support and to keep on doing it until you get what you want.
