The job listing suggests testing will begin in April 2025.

Rockstar Games hasn't announced anything official regarding Grand Theft Auto 6 yet, but it's been making moves lately that suggest that it's one step closer to releasing the game. Case in point, this new job posting from Rockstar India confirms that the next game in the Grand Theft Auto franchise isn't too far away.

As shared by @ _softwarejobs on X, Rockstar India is looking for game testers to work at its Bangalore office to "collaborate on exciting game projects." The listing doesn't contain any more details, but it does confirm that those hired will meet the team on April 5, 2025.

Developers only hire game testers when they're confident enough in the state of a game to actually test something. Otherwise, they'll do much of the testing internally. Although the listing doesn't explicitly state that those hired will test play_ GTA 6_, Rockstar currently has no other confirmed projects outside of the next game in the franchise.

The timing also falls in line with the start of the next fiscal year. Take-Two Interactive is expected to ramp up marketing efforts for its upcoming games starting on April 1, namely_ Mafia: The Old Country_,_ Borderlands 4_, and_ GTA 6_. With_ GTA 6 expected to come out after Borderlands 4_, doing more extensive testing from April onwards makes sense. They'll need more cutscenes and gameplay footage if Rockstar will start giving fans a glimpse of_ GTA 6 _over a year after the release of the first trailer.

Previously, Rockstar hired game testers to test_ Grand Theft Auto V: Expanded and Enhanced nearly a year before the next-gen version of Grand Theft Auto V was released on March 15, 2022. Rockstar India is one of Rockstar's now ten-strong subsidiaries. The Bangalore-based studio was established in 2016 and played an instrumental role in the development of Red Dead Redemption 2_.

With that said, it is possible that Rockstar India is hiring play testers for_ Red Dead Redemption 2 given its history with the series. An anonymous developer previously hinted that Rockstar has a current-gen remaster of Red Dead Redemption 2 in its backpocket in case it delays GTA 6 to 2026. It's also worth noting that the same developer mentioned that GTA 6_is still on track for a 2025 release.

Speaking of subsidiaries, Rockstar recently acquired Video Games Deluxe. Made up of former Team Bondi employees, the Syndney-based studio will now go by the name of Rockstar Australia.
