Rockstar Games has released Grand Theft Auto V four times with five different editions available across seven different platforms.

The original GTA 5 edition was released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 17, 2013 following an initial delay from its original spring 2013 launch window.

Rockstar later re-released GTA 5 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC as Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced Edition on November 18, 2014 on the PS4 and Xbox One and April 14, 2015 on PC.

GTA 5 was re-released for the second time for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X on March 15, 2022, under the name, Grand Theft Auto V Expanded and Enhanced.

The latest re-release of GTA 5 is for the PC on March 4, 2024. The update split the PC version of GTA 5 into two different versions. GTA V Enhanced represents the upgraded version with features on par with GTA V: Expanded and Enhanced. Grand Theft Auto V Legacy is the original version of GTA V that will continue to be supported on PCs with hardware that cannot handle the heavier requirements of GTA V Enhanced.
