Travis Scott's Grand Theft Auto VI track is out and the way he is teasing it will have you wondering if he will show up in the game itself as, perhaps, an NPC of himself you can interact with in Vice City or Leonida. His song "RHYNO" is now on the recently confirmed GTA 6 album. Scott announced it as "recorded live at the J.O.H.," a nod to the Jack of Hearts, the in-game strip club owned by Boobie Ike.
Rockstar Games has Scott's "RHYNO," produced by Daft Punk's Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, on the official soundtrack, part of the artist rollout that has been building for weeks. With Scott's teasing, though, the "Phase 1" captions, the GTA-styled artwork, the "SEE YOU SOON" sign-off, and recording "live" at a specific in-game club, you can't help but wonder if he will actually perform in-game.
After all, we've seen real musicians in Grand Theft Auto before. It's rare but it has happened and if it happens with GTA 6, Travis Scott, who has done it before, is an excellent choice.

The rare cases of real musicians turning up in a GTA game and where Travis Scott sits.
Phil Collins headlined story missions in GTA: Vice City Stories, which you can now play on the PC by the way, and even performed a concert you could revisit. Dr. Dre anchored a whole mission arc in the Grand Theft Auto Online DLC The Contract, likeness and all. Both are the exception rather than the rule, since most artists in GTA stick to the radio or voice fictional characters. A physical, as-himself Travis Scott would put him in that small, high-profile group.
As we've already mentioned, Scott is no stranger to games, either. His 2020 Astronomical concert in Fortnite drew tens of millions of people to the game and became one of the biggest in-game music events ever. He later signed on as a creative partner with PlayStation around the PlayStation 5 launch.
Given the close partnership between Sony and PlayStation, a GTA appearance would fit his pattern of previous appearances.
For now, though, the only confirmed thing is the song. Rockstar has said nothing about Travis Scott appearing in GTA 6 as an NPC, a performer or a character.
So the confirmed part is a strong track from one of the biggest artists in the world, produced by one-half of Daft Punk. The unconfirmed and the more exciting part, an in-game Travis Scott appearance in GTA 6, is the thing everyone is really waiting to hear about. Rockstar is not saying. We'll find out in November.
