Rockstar just patched several bugs and exploits ahead of tomorrow's mysterious new mode, which dataminers discovered months ago may bring the undead to Grand Theft Auto's tropical paradise.
With the Cayo Perico Survival Mode set to arrive in Grand Theft Auto Online tomorrow, August 28, Rockstar Games has released a background update preparing the game for the incoming update. As revealed by @TezFunz2 on X, Rockstar has issued fixes for multiple in-game problems, including some affecting the incoming mode.
While it was confirmed last week that some manner of new gameplay content is coming to the game, we have little official and certain information about the new mode.
However, it is believed to be the mode that dataminers dug up in June. If this is true, then Grand Theft Auto fans better prepare themselves for what's shaping up to be another zombie-infested game mode, albeit set in Cayo Perico this time around.
Aside from preparing the game for the Cayo Perico Survival mode, Rockstar also took a smorgasbord of bugs and minor issues into their hands. They fixed an issue on the DH-7 Iron Mule and grappling hook so that it's always deployed when you press right on the D-Pad.
Another fix was applied to a problem that led to inaccurate enemy accuracy values to any mission released following the Los Santos Summer Special update from June 2020 that has been around since Money Fronts launched.
A fourth patch was also released for the "Guns in Passive Mode" glitch. As the name suggests, this let players get guns even in passive mode through a complex process that involves interacting with a gun store, using a sticky bomb, and attempting to join a friend in a different targeting mode all at the same time.
It's been a relatively quiet week so far for GTA. We've heard next to nothing from Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar in regards to Grand Theft Auto 6 after their last earnings call.
However, other studios have been talking about the upcoming sequel in their stead. Obsidian Entertainment, in particular, joked about finally being able to release Outer Worlds 2 later this year following the delay to GTA 6.
