Rockstar Games is releasing a new update for GTA Online, addressing bugs and improving gameplay features ahead of Take-Two's earnings call.

Rockstar Games just released a new update for Grand Theft Auto Online - and it isn't what every Grand Theft Auto fan was expecting at the moment. As all eyes are on Take-Two Interactive and its next earnings call, Rockstar quietly rolled out a new update. Revealed by Tez2, one of the main highlights of the latest update to GTA Online is a very small but welcome change to how the Salvage Yard robbery works.

Players grinding through a new new Salvage Yard robbery involving a vehicle already in their possession will now be conveniently marked as 'Acquired,' streamlining the robbery process and allowing players to focus their efforts on new and unique vehicles rather than wasting time on duplicates.

The improvements don't stop there. The update also addresses a particularly frustrating bug - previously, during the Investigation: Davis prep mission for the South Central Leak, players found themselves stuck when Vernon, a key NPC, failed to enter the Burrito van as required. This glitch often resulted in mission failures and wasted time. However, the latest patch fixes this. Vernon should now smoothly enter the van.

The update also solves another long-standing issue with the LS Tags posters. Many players reported that these posters would mysteriously disappear upon spraying them, robbing them of the satisfaction of leaving their mark on Los Santos. This is no longer the case. Players can now fully enjoy the vandalism aspect of the game without any visual glitches.

Another intriguing change in this update is the restriction placed on mission-related contacts. Players can no longer call contacts such as Ron or Gerald while inside a property. This minor adjustment closes the door on several glitches that savvy players had exploited for years. Perhaps what's most interesting though is the timing: the update comes just hours ahead of Take-Two's February 6 earnings call.

With Grand Theft Auto 6 expected to release later this fall, many are looking forward for the release of the game's next trailer. The first trailer was a resounding success and remains the second-most-watched video game trailer in history. But we have to remember that Rockstar has no obligation to cater to antsy fans. If anything, their past history suggests that they're more likely to make expecting fans wait even longer. After all, other video game publishers like Xbox and EA are holding their breath, waiting for an official release date for GTA 6.
