The brothers are richer than most celebrities and race car drivers in the United Kingdom.

Sometime, crime does pay - or, a virtual representation of crime, at least. Sam Houser and Dan Houser have just secured their spot on The Times UK Rich List with a combined fortune of £400 million, making them the 312th richest individuals in a list of 350 people.

What makes this even more remarkable is that Rockstar Games hasn't released a major new title in years. Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently delayed and their last big release was Red Dead Redemption 2 years ago.

Despite this, the brothers still managed to add £50 million to their wealth in just the past year alone. It's an open secret that one of the biggest reasons why Rockstar and the Houser brothers continue to make millions every year without a new AAA title is Grand Theft Auto 5.

Released over a decade ago, the game continues to generate massive revenue through Grand Theft Auto Online. Every time someone buys a Shark Card to get a virtual car, apartment, or weapon in GTA Online, a portion of that money flows back to the Houser brothers through the brother's royalty arrangement.

As reported by Tax Watch UK, the brothers and other key Rockstar employees are entitled to 50% of the operating profits from previous titles.

Nobody could've predicted the success that the Houser brothers have achieved. After founding Rockstar in 1998 and taking over development of the_Grand Theft Auto_franchise from its former developers, video games were still seen as a niche hobby.

Today, the gaming market is worth an estimated £146 billion globally, dwarfing the film and music industries combined and_GTA_is a major player in it.

According to industry experts,GTA 6's delay from its original release date later this year will have serious repercussions for the entire gaming industry. Very few franchises, let alone single releases, hold as much influence as_GTA_and_GTA 6_.

As for the brothers, the pair have taken different paths in recent years. Dan left Rockstar in 2020 to start his own company, Absurd Ventures, which is currently developing new games including an open-world action title.

Sam remains as president of Rockstar, overseeing the development of_GTA 6_, which Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick once claimed will set a new "creative benchmark" in the gaming industry.

Looking ahead, their wealth is likely to skyrocket even further. When GTA 6 finally launches, it's projected to break every entertainment sales record.
