The new GTA V upgrade will bring console-exclusive perks, ray tracing, and GTA+ to PC players - at no extra cost.

Grand Theft Auto V is about to receive a major free upgrade for PC players on March 4, bringing a host of features previously exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, alongside several technical improvements. At long last all contemporary platforms will achieve feature parity, and beefy PCs will put all that hardware to good use.

The upgrade is a big deal for PC players as it will bring Hao's Special Works auto shop, where players can access elite vehicle modifications and participate in specialized racing events. Five exclusive vehicles, including the sleek Coil Cyclone II and the muscular Imponte Arbiter GT, will be available for the first time on PC.

PC players will also encounter wildlife throughout southern San Andreas, adding a new layer of immersion to the game world. Players can participate in daily Wildlife Photography Challenges for additional rewards, bringing a peaceful contrast to the game's usual high-octane action.

The technical enhancements are also worthwhile with PC-exclusive ray tracing features, including ambient occlusion and global illumination. The upgrade also introduces support for AMD FSR3 and NVIDIA DLSS 3, faster loading times through DirectStorage, and enhanced audio with Dolby Atmos support. Players using a DualSense controller will experience adaptive trigger feedback as well.

For newcomers, the upgrade includes an improved introductory flow with a generous GTA$4,000,000 starting bonus, allowing fresh players to kickstart their criminal empire as an Executive, Gunrunner, Nightclub Owner, or Biker. The new Career Progress feature helps players track their criminal journey across all of GTA Online's various updates.

More importantly, PC players will now have access to GTA+, the premium membership service that offers monthly GTA$ bonuses, exclusive vehicles, and access to The Vinewood Club Garage's 100-vehicle storage capacity. The service also includes special customization options and access to classic Rockstar Games titles.

To ensure no player is left behind, Rockstar will continue supporting the previous version of GTA V for PC users whose hardware doesn't meet the new requirements. However, this means the online community will be split between versions, with players needing to use the same version to play together.
