Grand Theft Auto VI will launch with support for 13 languages. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed the list at the company's shareholder call on September 17, matching what the GTA 6 store page now shows. The lineup covers the usual major markets. English, the big European languages, Japanese, Korean, both Chinese scripts and the key Spanish and Portuguese variants are all in. Unfortunately, the one language that several fans campaign hard to add to the game did not make the cut.
Turkish is not there, despite a big fan campaign pushing for it. Neither are Arabic, Hindi or the others near the top of the most-requested pile. The 13 supported languages are essentially the same set Grand Theft Auto V shipped with, so anyone hoping things would change with the next Grand Theft Auto will feel disappointed, at least at launch.

The confirmation is a small footnote from an event that was never going to be a big GTA 6 moment. When it was first announced, we said the shareholder meeting was routine governance, and it was, but a language list still counts as the rare piece of concrete news to come out of it. Zelnick merely glossed over it. The official store page confirmed it.
Nearly two months ahead of its launch, this settles the language question. The answer is the same 13 languages that the series has offered for years. Despite being bigger than ever, Rockstar Games still doesn't think it's worth investing in supporting languages such as Turkish and Arabic, among several others. However, we've also known about this for a while. Back in 2024, a hiring for localisation testers showed that Rockstar was looking for people to translate the game's subtitles and UI, among others, to the same languages that GTA 6 is now confirmed to support.
The good news is that Rockstar has expanded language options to older games post launch before, so this isn't necessarily a final list, but if you were counting on playing GTA 6 6 in one of the missing ones on day one, we have bad news for you.
