Rockstar quietly changed GTA 6's website that suggests the game won't be delayed anymore.

There's no telling if Grand Theft Auto 6 will still be delayed from its new release date on May 26, 2026, but all signs point to the likelihood that it will stick to it this time around.

Rockstar Games quietly updated the official GTA 6 website to include wishlisting functionality, allowing Grand Theft Auto fans to add the highly anticipated game to their platform wishlists.

The development comes after it was made available to wishlist on PlayStation 5 soon after the release of the second trailer and on Xbox Series S/X in June.

While this might seem like a minor update, publishers typically don't add wishlist options unless they're confident about their release timeline.

This small but significant change comes at a time when many fans have been worried about potential delays.

With developers pushing back release dates to avoid crunch culture, the latest move suggests Rockstar is feeling confident about their progress, aligning with previous reports.

Adding wishlist functionality is typically one of the final pre-launch steps, often coming just months before pre-orders open up. It's a signal to retailers and digital storefronts that the marketing machine is starting to gear up.

Of course, Rockstar does have a history of delays. As per former Rockstar North lead developer Obbe Vermeij, Grand Theft Auto IV was famously pushed from October 2007 to April 2008.

Other Rockstar titles have experienced similar delays. Red Dead Redemption slipped from its planned April 2010 launch to May of that year. Even Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas experienced a minor delay from October 19 to October 29 in 2004.

Regardless of another GTA 6 delay, wishlisting lets Rockstar gauge interest levels across different regions, allowing the studio to further fine tune their marketing for what's easily the biggest video game launch of the current generation.

Everyone, including Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick, is predicting that GTA 6 will break numerous records and set new standards when it launches.

But for now, the ability to wishlist GTA 6 represents tangible progress and suggests that Rockstar's 2026 target remains firmly in sight.

In other news, internet sleuths have found proof that Rockstar might release a companion app for GTA 6, possibly with more robust features than the one released for Grand Theft Auto V.
