The Grand Theft Auto VI marketing machine may be coming for your Discord next. A datamine of a Discord test build has turned up what looks like a full app-wide GTA 6 makeover, icon, theme and font, timed to the game's launch on November 19 and codenamed "Hexagon." It is a leak rather than an announcement and Discord has already scrubbed the evidence, but it is credible and very much in keeping with how this campaign has gone.

The find came from @WumpusCentral, a reputable Discord dataminer, who spotted GTA VI references buried in a Discord Canary build on October 6. The code pointed to a GTA 6 app icon, a Vice City-styled theme with a pink, yellow and purple gradient down to specific hex values and a custom display-name font widely expected to be Pricedown, the blocky typeface Grand Theft Auto has used for years. Alongside the cosmetics were strings reading "Promoted by Rockstar Games," availability tied to Nitro status, "days left" countdowns and signs of a possible Discord Quest, the watch-a-trailer-or-do-a-task promos that hand out rewards, with the reward here still blank.

The leaked "Hexagon" timeline

Milestone
Date, per the leak
Campaign starts
November 17, 2026, 18:00 UTC
Ends for free users
December 8, 2026
Ends for Nitro subscribers
February 15, 2027

Every date here is datamined and unconfirmed by Discord or Rockstar.

Free users would get the GTA 6 look for about three weeks, while Nitro subscribers would keep it deep into February, which turns a launch promo into a quiet reason to stay as a paid subscriber.

None of this is official though. A day after the leak, Discord stripped every GTA VI reference out of the code, which sounds dramatic but is routine, since companies pull leaked assets constantly and re-add them closer to the date.

What makes it even more believable is the history behind it. Rockstar and Discord have been building this relationship for a while. Discord has already handed out free Nitro for watching a GTA 6 trailer through a Quest and the two teamed up on rewards for Grand Theft Auto Online before that. A full icon-theme-font takeover is the largest version of a partnership that already exists.

It also extends the marketing blitz into new territory. Rockstar has wrapped a building on the Paris ring road, turned an NBA arena into Vice City and leaned on YouTube to court creators. A Discord takeover moves that same energy from physical spaces and other platforms into the app millions of players keep open while they game. These pushes tend to be short, too, since Sony already ended its PlayStation takeover and Discord's would be time-limited by design, just longer for the people paying for Nitro.

So if "Hexagon" ships the way the code described it, your Discord could go full neon Vice City from November 17, two days before the game launches on November 19, and stay that way into next year if you pay for it.
