Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have stayed quiet on Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders, but Best Buy may have just answered the question for them.

Multiple people who are part of Best Buy's affiliate program received an email this week from Impact, Best Buy's affiliate marketing platform, outlining an upcoming promotional campaign for "GTA 6 Pre Order (Physical Game)."

The campaign window runs from May 18 to May 21, 2026, with affiliates earning 5% commission on sales through their links. Insider Gaming confirmed the email is legitimate after having two separate affiliates forward it directly.

The timing lines up with Take-Two's earnings call, which is scheduled for May 21. That's already a date investors and fans had circled as a likely moment for a major announcement. Pre-orders opening right before an earnings call makes obvious business sense.

YouTuber Frogboyx1Gaming was first to post about the email, going live to show it off. From there, others in the same affiliate networks started sharing screenshots confirming they got the same thing. The email traces back to Impact's domain, which adds credibility, though there's always the possibility Best Buy entered placeholder data and sent it out by mistake.

The leaked email from Best Buy's affiliate network might be the most credible GTA 6 pre-order leak fans have gotten yet.

No price has been confirmed yet. There has been ongoing speculation that Take-Two will push GTA 6 past the standard $60-70 range, possibly to $100, but nothing is official.

If pre-orders do open on May 18, most fans expect a new trailer to come with it. Rockstar dropped both previous trailers alongside major announcements, and it has now been well over a year since any real footage of the game was shown. Trailer 2 has crossed 160 million views on YouTube, and there has been no major update since 2025.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has said repeatedly in recent interviews that marketing for GTA 6 would be ramping up soon and has held firm on the November 19, 2026 release date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Pre-orders opening five months out fits that timeline.

Nothing is confirmed until Rockstar or Take-Two says something officially, but this is about as close to a credible leak as it gets.
