The Grand Theft Auto VI marketing machine has reached Oxford Street. Selfridges, the London luxury department store, is teasing a "world of Grand Theft Auto VI" experience at its flagship from November 9, after it had already put the fictional Vice City as a display in its Christmas windows.

It's official: Rockstar Games' flagship title is moving across the pond into into one of Britain's grandest shops from Miami's billboards.

The groundwork went in weeks ago. Selfridges' 2026 "Christmas and the City" campaign gave its 12 Oxford Street windows to festive scenes from real cities, Mexico City, Rio, Lagos, New York, Tokyo, Paris and more, with one window handed to Leonida's fictional Vice City. Santa turns up in the Vice City scene, which, among other things, features a Burger Shot cup.

The experience itself was teased on Selfridges' official Instagram, which told followers to "get ready to experience the world of Grand Theft Auto VI at Selfridges from 9 November 2026" and pointed them to its Selfridges Unlocked membership for details. The timing is no accident. November 9 is 10 days before the game's November 19 launch and the day before its digital pre-load window opens, right as Christmas shopping ramps up.

What the experience involves is still under wraps. Selfridges has yet to spell out whether the November 9 collaboration brings merchandise, a pop-up, an immersive installation or exclusive items, only that GTA 6 is coming to town. Rockstar has not announced the activation on its own channels either, so the official scope of its involvement is unconfirmed.

With that said, Selfridges is not a random choice. Founded in 1909, the Oxford Street landmark is Britain's second-largest department store and a byword for theatrical windows and "shopping as entertainment," with further stores in Birmingham and Manchester. It has courted gamers before, from Pokémon anniversary takeovers to a Samsung-backed gaming "Playhouse," but a full "experience the world of" tie-in with Rockstar is a bigger swing, a sign of how far GTA 6's reach now runs, from official merch to the luxury shop floor.

Selfridges will open a "world of Grand Theft Auto VI" experience in London from November 9.

Selfridges is the latest and most upmarket stop on a tour we have followed since summer. Rockstar's partners have turned real Miami into Vice City, from a giant GTA 6 sign on the Kaseya Center to South Beach plane banners, a nightclub rebranding as NINE1NINE Vice City and the Miami Heat playing as Vice City. London's grandest shop joining in is the clearest sign the takeover is going global.

A fictional city built on Miami, celebrated with Santa in a London shop window and an in-store experience to match, is the kind of crossover money cannot usually buy and Rockstar just did.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick might continue to refuse to talk about how much it cost to make and market GTA 6 but we have no doubt that it's sparing no expense for it based on what we've seen so far.
