Grand Theft Auto 5 Story Mode is now in the GTA+ Games Library. A $7.99/month subscription on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, or PC gives you the full campaign plus Red Dead Redemption, Bully, L.A. Noire, and classic GTA titles.
Rockstar Games added Grand Theft Auto V's entire story mode to the GTA+ Games Library on June 11. As a result, anyone with an active $7.99/month GTA+ subscription on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, or PC (Enhanced) can now play the full single-player campaign without buying the game separately. Five months before Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, Rockstar just made the easiest onramp to the franchise cheaper than a movie ticket.
Coincidence? Definitely not. Story Mode was previously included and then removed from both PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass. For a window of time, neither Sony's nor Microsoft's subscription service included it. GTA+ is now the only subscription where you can play the GTA V campaign, which makes Rockstar's own $7.99 service the exclusive gateway to the franchise's most recent single-player experience.

With GTA 6 marketing starting in weeks, Trailer 3 dropping soon, and the internet a month away from a deluge of GTA 6 content, a significant number of people will ask the same question: "Should I play GTA 5 before GTA 6 comes out?" The answer used to cost $30 to $40. It now costs $7.99 per month of access, which is more than enough time to complete the 30- to 40-hour campaign. The best part? You get more Grand Theft Auto content for the same price!

Each step moves the player deeper into the ecosystem. The pipeline is designed to turn a casual subscriber into a $80 day-one purchase five months later.
At $7.99 per month, the library's combined retail value exceeds $200. A single month gives you access to GTA V Story Mode, Grand Theft Auto Online, Red Dead Redemption, Bully, L.A. Noire, and other classic GTA titles. The math has shifted from "GTA+ is just GTA Online perks" to "GTA+ is a Rockstar Games library with monthly bonuses attached."
Will GTA 6 be included in GTA+ at launch? The honest answer is almost certainly not. GTA 6 at $70-$80 is the revenue event that justifies the $8 billion SEC guidance. Including it in a $7.99 subscription on day one would cannibalize the revenue that Take-Two Interactive has promised shareholders. Changing this would be the single most destructive business decision ever made by a company expecting to become bigger than gaming. The subscription exists to bring people into the ecosystem before they pay that price.
GTA V joining GTA+ is the last piece of the pre-launch funnel, the marketing starts soon, the pre-orders follow, and the cheapest way to experience the franchise that is about to consume the entire entertainment industry just dropped to $7.99.
