The RC Bandito is Grand Theft Auto Online’s remote-controlled off-road car. Oversized tyres, interchangeable bodies and optional weapons make it more than a toy, and you drive it remotely instead of getting behind the wheel.1

It arrived on January 29, 2019, as part of Arena War’s rollout following the update’s December 2018 launch.2

Buying and storing the RC Bandito

You need an Arena Workshop before you can buy the RC Bandito from Southern San Andreas Super Autos. The standard GTA$1,590,000 price covers the car; the Workshop and upgrades cost extra.

Your Bandito arrives at its own workstation inside the Workshop. That is where you store and customize it, rather than taking it to a mod shop.1

Remote use and upgrades

In Freemode, open the Interaction Menu and select Manage Vehicles, then Remote Control Vehicles, then RC Bandito.

At the Workshop, you can swap liveries and body styles or add a vertical jump, remote explosives and either kinetic or EMP mines.1

There is a five-minute cooldown between RC Bandito requests. The Money Fronts update increased that wait and made the Bandito vulnerable to EMP disruption.4

Races and daily Time Trials

Rockstar introduced eight RC Bandito Races alongside the vehicle and added seven more on February 28, 2019. The original series supplied a car to players who did not own one, while allowing owners to use custom versions.12

RC Time Trials are solo challenges against a par time, rather than the original multiplayer race series. They rotate daily, with a par-time reward available each day. Rockstar changed the rotation and added five trials in June 2023.3
