The update arrived as part of the recent Money Fronts DLC for GTA Online.
Rockstar Games can be sneaky when they want to and we mean that in a good way. Case in point, the developers just released an update for Grand Theft Auto V on PC that, basically, makes the game even prettier.
Exclusive to Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced is a new option in the settings menu that allows the game to cast more shadows with more light bounces, giving you yet another reason to upgrade your copy of Grand Theft Auto V Legacy for free.
Of course, your PC will have to be capable of supporting the additional load, but the video below showcases much better the difference that the new update makes to the graphics of GTA V Enhanced.
NaturalVision Evolved creator, Razed, was one of the first to discover this bonus setting that was added as part of the Money Fronts DLC for GTA Online.
For a more exact description of the new settings, here's what Rockstar listed on the patch notes:
- An option to enable high resolution ray traced reflections has been added to GTAV Enhanced
- An option to have a second ray bounce for RTGI has been added to GTAV Enhanced
While there's a slight increase in VRAM usage when you enable the high resolution reflections at 1440p and 4K, your desktop should be able to handle having all the ray-tracing technology turned on if it hadn't already had problems before.
With that said, we can confidently say that the only way to make Los Santos look better is to install the NaturalVision Evolved mod.
GTA V remains one of the most popular games on the market with over 215 million units sold as of the latest Take-Two Interactive earnings call. It's on track to sell around 230 million copies by the time Grand Theft Auto 6 is released on May 26, 2026.
Until then, Grand Theft Auto fans can keep themselves busy by playing GTA Online, which, by the way, will not need a PS Plus subscription on PlayStation for the next two weeks.
Weirdly enough, there's a reason to subscribe to PS Plus with Grand Theft Auto III joining the PS Plus library.
