The upcoming patch is likely to be included in the June GTA Online update, which is expected to arrive on June 17.

Graphical hardware giant AMD has confirmed that Rockstar Games will add support for FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 to Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced in an upcoming patch.

The announcement came via an updated AMD support document that added over 30 games to the FSR 4 compatibility list, with GTA V Enhanced marked as "Upcoming."

The enhanced PC version of GTA V currently supports only FSR 3. FSR 4 support will be limited to AMD's Radeon RX 9070 and 9060 series graphics cards, which feature the RDNA 4 architecture required for the technology's machine learning acceleration. FSR 4 uses machine learning algorithms trained on high-quality game data to improve visual quality over FSR 3. The technology comes with better temporal stability, improved detail preservation, and reduced ghosting artifacts.

However, it requires more processing power than FSR 3, though this should have minimal impact on GTA V Enhanced given the game's relatively low system requirements on modern hardware. AMD designed FSR 4 to automatically upgrade games that currently use FSR 3.1 temporal upscaling. Users can enable the feature through a single button in the AMD Software Adrenalin Edition interface without manual configuration.

Rockstar confirmed last week that a new GTA Online update will be released this month, following the company's typical June release schedule. The update is expected to arrive on June 17, based on the end dates of the current Event Week and GTA+ subscription cycle. The FSR 4 implementation will likely be included in this summer update.

The Reddit user aBoyFromTheFuture first spotted the FSR 4 listing for GTA V Enhanced in AMD's updated documentation. However, Rockstar has not yet announced a specific release date for the patch containing FSR 4 support.
