Día de Muertos meets Halloween in Los Santos this week as slashers, UFOs, and zombies run amok as part of GTA Online's Halloween event.
Los Santos is fully embracing the Halloween spirit as Grand Theft Auto Online unleashes a wave of spooky content and thrilling challenges for players to enjoy. As part of the latest GTA Online update, the virtual streets of the decade-old and still very popular metropolis are teeming with eerie encounters, from knife-wielding maniacs to otherworldly visitors.
There are reports of Slasher sightings across Los Santos, with players encountering these menacing figures lurking in the shadows, ready to pounce on unsuspecting victims. Adding to the chaos, bruised and battered clones are back, with onlookers reporting sightings throughout the city, and their intentions as mysterious as their origins.
The tide of terror doesn't stop there – the skies above Los Santos are alive with increased UFO activity, as alien vessels hover ominously as if just waiting for the perfect opportunity to abduct their next victim. Or to get scared and fly off. Either/or.

Of course, the highlight is the Slasher mode (not to be confused with the Navy Revolver mystery hunt of the same name), which pits players against each other in a deadly game of cat and mouse. One player takes on the role of the Slasher, armed with a shotgun and tasked with hunting down a team of up to seven other players.
After three minutes, the tables turn as the hunted become the hunters, receiving their own shotguns and a chance for revenge. To sweeten the deal, Rockstar Games is doubling the rewards for all participants, with GTA+ members enjoying a whopping quadruple reward bonus.
Rockstar also used this week's Newswire post to give a shoutout to the success of the North Yankton Nightmare Community Challenge. Players obliterated the initial goal of defeating 200 million zombies in the Ludendorff Cemetery Survival mode in just two days, giving Rockstar no choice but to up the ante to 800 million zombies–a target that players are rapidly approaching.
As a token of appreciation for joining the Halloween festivities, any player who will log into GTA Online before October 23 will receive a Brown Creepy Cat Mask. For those seeking an even more sinister look, completing the Weekly Challenge by eliminating their Clone Slasher will unlock the Black Creepy Cat Mask, along with a generous GTA$100,000 bonus. Rockstar's advice is to explore Freemode at night for the best chance of encountering these doppelgänger menaces.
Rockstar made sure not to forget the celebration of Día de Muertos amidst the Halloween chaos. Players can honor this vibrant holiday by simply logging in this week to receive two ornate masks: the Maritime Calaca Mask and the Royal Calaca Mask. These beautifully decorated skull masks offer a colorful contrast to the darker themes of the season.
For those looking to make some serious cash during these spooky times, Rockstar has doubled the rewards for Acid Lab Sell Missions. Players can team up with Dax and the Fooliganz to distribute their illicit wares across Los Santos, earning twice the usual GTA$ and RP for their efforts until October 23.
The Premium Deluxe Motorsport Showroom is featuring a lineup of vehicles that perfectly capture the season's mood. The showroom's star attraction is the high-speed Declasse Scramjet, a super car that's sure to turn heads and leave others in the dust. Other notable offerings include the Grotti Cheetah, the Benefactor Stirling GT, the Chariot Romero Herase, and the Canis Bodhi.
Over at the Luxury Autos Showroom, it's all about Vapid this week. The showroom is proudly displaying the muscular Vapid Dominator FX and the imposing Vapid Aleutian SUV, both perfect for cruising the streets of Los Santos in style.
