Rockstar Games is now offering a new and enticing deal to fans through its GTA+ subscription service.
Launched last year, GTA+, priced at $6 monthly, was initially made available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S versions of Grand Theft Auto 5. The service originally came with numerous benefits for GTA Online enthusiasts, which included a monthly deposit of $500,000 virtual money, an assortment of vehicles, bonus items, and frequent boosts to in-game cash and RP.
However, this most recent announcement by Rockstar Games is set to elevate the service's appeal significantly. Subscribers will now gain access to a "rotating assortment of classic Rockstar Games titles." This move kicks off with the inclusion of the Definitive Edition remasters of the legendary Grand Theft Auto 3 trilogy. These titles — Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, and San Andreas — which originally found fame on the PlayStation 2 platform, are iconic games that revolutionized the open-world gaming experience. They set a high standard and laid the foundation for future open-world games.

The Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition, typically retailing for $60, offers an enhanced version of these games. The remasters have been polished with updated visuals, improved lighting, high-resolution textures, expanded draw distances, modern controls, and refined targeting, providing a fresh look to the classics.
Notably, the Definitive Editions of these classic GTA titles did encounter their share of criticism upon release, because of a handful of bugs and missing graphical elements. Although Rockstar has rolled out patches to address some significant issues, some fans feel that these editions still do not do justice to the originals.
Despite these critiques, the addition of these titles to the GTA+ service certainly makes the subscription more attractive, especially for those looking to experience or re-experience these iconic games without the hefty standalone price tag.
Rockstar has also teased that more classic games from its extensive catalog will be rotating into the GTA+ service in the future. This catalog includes iconic games ranging from Max Payne and Red Dead Redemption to Bully and Manhunt. With such a diverse and rich library, subscribers can potentially look forward to experiencing a variety of Rockstar's best works.
