Rockstar Games is bringing players back to its GTA+ subscription service with a limited-time promotion that offers three months of membership for the price of two. While the deal offers genuine value for anyone considering the service, the terms and conditions include important caveats that subscribers should understand before signing up.

For starters, the promotion runs from December 9 through January 6, giving interested players nearly a month to decide whether they want to take advantage of the offer. During this window, new or returning subscribers who purchase GTA+ through the PlayStation Store can receive a third month completely free after paying for their first two months of membership.

The current promotion specifically targets new subscribers or players who previously had GTA+ but have since cancelled their membership. This means existing subscribers with active memberships are not eligible for the deal.

To get the free third month of GTA+, you need to purchase your first month during the promotional window between December 9 and January 6. This first purchase starts your subscription and enables auto-renewal. You must remain subscribed and allow the automatic renewal to charge you for that second month. The promotion's structure means Rockstar receives payment for two months before providing anything free.

Don't worry. You can disable auto-renewal after your second payment processes without sacrificing your free third month as promised. However, your subscription will automatically lapse when that free month ends unless you manually re-enable auto-renewal before the next payment date.

Given that this is Rockstar we're talking about, they're a step ahead of scammers. If you request and receive a refund for your renewal payment, Rockstar reserves the right to revoke your entitlement to the free third month. This makes sense as an anti-abuse measure preventing people from exploiting the system by paying, claiming the benefit, then reversing the payment.
