TL;DR Summary

Brett Gipson, who voices Sabretooth in Marvel's Wolverine, lists a supporting role as a character named Ellis in Grand Theft Auto 6 on his Actors Access resume.

Fans may have actually found the first Grand Theft Auto VI actor, and this time, it's a man who, months earlier, will play a significant role in Marvel's Wolverine. Brett Gipson will voice Victor Creed in Insomniac Games' upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive. He'll apparently play a supporting role as a yet-to-be-revealed character named Ellis, as listed on his public Actors Access resume.

MP1st was one of the first to spot the listing. Again, there's no official confirmation from Rockstar Games, but a self-reported credit on an actor's own professional resume is kind of as reliable as it gets.

Actors list their upcoming and completed roles on industry resume sites like Actors Access to get more work, similar to how the "other" confirmed GTA 6 actor, Jim Santangeli, surfaced a couple of weeks ago.

But between Santagelli saying he's part of the next Grand Theft Auto and an actor adding a new, admittedly high-profile credit to his portfolio, the latter carries more weight.

Unknown; "supporting" and a name suggest more than a generic NPC

Here is what the resume tells us, and what it does not.

The word "supporting" matters because it suggests Ellis is a named character with actual presence in the story. You do not get a character name and a "supporting" tag for someone you pass on the street.

As for Gibson himself, his resume is quite interesting. As we've already mentioned, he plays Sabertooth in Marvel's Wolverine, a physically imposing, menacing presence who is just as savage as the titular Marvel fan-favorite. He has also appeared in Stranger Things: Tales from '85 as Hopper. He is a working actor with a track record of playing big, intense, physical characters. If Rockstar typecasts him, Ellis may play someone with some muscle and menace to him.

With that said, casting someone like Ellis in a GTA is Rockstar's MO to a T. The studio has a reputation for hiring a mix of recognizable talent and fresh faces, most of them not household names, chosen to fit characters rather than to put a celebrity on the box. Grand Theft Auto V used relative unknowns who later became iconic through their roles.

This is the second actor leak in weeks, and arguably the first to be confirmed this way

As for when we'll find out what Ellis' role is in GTA 6, we might not know anytime soon.

Pre-orders are coming on June 25 with a likely gameplay reveal close behind. Rockstar, a studio that operates in a black box, won't confirm its role at all. The only way we'll find out is when the credits roll on November 19, after we've finished playing through what story Leonida and Vice City will tell at launch.
