PC Game Pass subscribers can now get instant access to thousands of custom servers.

FiveM now fully supports the Microsoft Store version of Grand Theft Auto V, including copies from Xbox Game Pass for PC subscriptions.

Announced by Cfx.re (now owned by Rockstar Games) on their Discord channel, this update eliminates the need to own GTA V through Steam, Epic Games Store, or Rockstar Games' launcher to access FiveM.

Now, PC Game Pass subscribers can install GTA V via the Microsoft Store and immediately use FiveM without purchasing a separate copy. The client detects Microsoft Store installations automatically, functioning identically across all platforms. The Rockstar Games Launcher has been updated to recognize Game Pass licenses.

For those unfamiliar with this tool, FiveM is a mod platform that allows players to connect to custom multiplayer servers with unique GTA V experiences beyond standard online play. It's known for roleplay servers (RP servers), racing, and other modded gameplay. Rockstar Games acquired Cfx.re in August 2023, giving the project official backing.

This compatibility opens FiveM to millions of Xbox Game Pass subscribers who previously faced a barrier to entry. As it stands, no additional purchases or complex setup is required—users simply install GTA V from the Microsoft Store, download the FiveM client, and get instant access to thousands of custom servers.
