On February 13, 2014, Rockstar released the "Valentine's Day Massacre Special" update. This update paid homage to the 1920s and included a range of themed content:
New Weapon: The Gusenberg Sweeper, a classic Tommy gun reminiscent of the Prohibition era.
New Vehicle: The Albany Roosevelt, a vintage limousine perfect for mobster getaways.
Clothing: A selection of flapper dresses, double-breasted suits, and other Roaring Twenties attire.
New Jobs: Ten new jobs were added, including "Shotgun Wedding," a Deathmatch set around the Paleto Bay church, and "Heart Breaker," an off-road bike race on a heart-shaped track.

In February 2016, the "Be My Valentine" update expanded upon previous Valentine's content:
New Clothing: A broader range of vintage-inspired clothing for both male and female characters, including new suits, dresses, and accessories.
