Top 5 Fastest Vehicles In GTA 5 Story Mode (Ranked By Top Speed)

While GTA Online is booming, with new and exclusive vehicles being added regularly, the story mode (or offline mode) also has an attractive collection of vehicles that you can drive around the roads of Los Santos.

The story mode vehicles can be bought from the in-game online store just like you would in GTA Online. But, you can only buy up to four vehicles per character with an additional two car storage spots being available at their respective safehouses. You can store up to two cars at Michael's safehouse, two cars at Franklin's safehouse, and one car at each of Trevor's safehouses (Trevor has two safe houses).

After completing the heists in story mode, you will most likely hit the various car dealerships and look for vehicles worthy of your hard-earned money. This guide is here to walk you through the vehicle selection process, so you end up with the best vehicles available for purchase.

In this guide, we cover the top 5 fastest cars in GTA story mode. If you're looking for a GTA Online version of the same, then feel free to check out our guide here.

All the speed stats mentioned in this article have been confirmed by Adam "Broughy" Brough, who has tested every single vehicle added in GTA 5. Broughy has a custom race track designed specifically for the testing of these vehicles.

5. Grotti Turismo R

Standing at number five is the iconic Grotti Turismo R, known for its acceleration and speed more than its handling. The vehicle was released in GTA 5 and Online as part of the Business Update on March 4, 2014. This LaFerrari and McLaren-inspired 2-seater super vehicle can reach a top speed of 121.75 mph (195.94 km/h). It is only a Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) and weighs around 1,350 KG.

The vehicle is available for purchase from Legendary Motorsport for $500,000, which is not too bad for considering the stats on this vehicle. It can be sold for $300,000. The best part about this vehicle is the fact that if you've bought the Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack, you get the vehicle for free and can still sell it for $300,000.

4. Pegassi Osiris

The Pegassi Osiris is a Pagani Zonda inspired supercar that was introduced in GTA 5 and Online as part of the Ill-Gotten Gains Part 1 Update on June 10, 2015. The Osiris is a 2-seater All Wheel Drive (AWD) that weighs around 1,350 KG and can reach a top speed of 122.00 mph (196.34 km/h). The vehicle has excellent acceleration and speed stats, as well as decent handling and braking.

3. Pegassi Zentorno

If you're a long-time GTA fan, you already knew that the Zentorno would be on this list. Though it is not number one like it used to be, the Zentorno is still one of the best vehicles in the game. It was added to the game as part of the High Life Update on May 13, 2014, making it one of the classics of GTA 5 and Online.

The real-life Lamborghini Veneno inspires this 1,500 KG 2-seater. It is an AWD and can reach the top speed of 122.00 mph (196.34 km/h). You might be wondering why despite having the same speed, the Zentorno beats the Osiris? That is because the overall stats score (speed, brake, handling, and acceleration) of the Zentorno are better than the Osiris.

Although this guide ranks all the vehicles here based on top speed, you could argue that the cheaper price of the Zentorno places it above Osiris. You can purchase the Zentorno from Legendary Motorsport for $725,000 instead of the whopping $1,950,000 for Osiris. You can resell the vehicle for $435,000.

2. Progen T20

At number two is the Progen T20 which was added as part of the Ill-Gotten Gains Part 2 Update on July 8, 2015. This 2-seater weighs around 1,395 KG and can reach a maximum speed of 122.25 mph (196.74 km/h). It has excellent speed, acceleration, and handling stats but not the greatest brake stats. However, the braking can always be improved by customizing the vehicle at LS Customs.

This AWD can be purchased from Legendary Motorsport for a hefty $2,200,000. You can sell the T20 for $1,320,000.

1. Truffade Adder

A Bugatti Veyron inspired vehicle takes the crown for being the fastest vehicle in GTA 5 story mode. The Truffade Adder is a 2-seater AWD and weighs around 1,800 KG. It doesn't have the best handling stats, but this vehicle flies when it comes to speed and acceleration. It can reach a maximum speed of 124.75 mph (200.77 km/h).
