Over the past few days, a tight convoy of vehicles modified and built to look like Grand Theft Auto VI cars, plates and all, turned up on public streets across Miami and out to Key Biscayne. There was a McLaren dressed as a Progen Emerus, a classic Ferrari playing the Grotti Cheetah and, as the showstopper, a Lamborghini in full Vice City police livery. Rockstar Games has not posted a word about it. It did not need to.
The sightings clustered around October 15 and 16. Most reports count six to eight cars, moving together and at one point parked at a gas station while a GTA 6 Goodyear blimp floated overhead. Every car wore Leonida plates, the fictional state that stands in for Florida. Each had reworked body kits, wraps and badging to match a specific in-game vehicle, with several reports crediting the builds to West Coast Customs, the same shop Rockstar has used before.
However, the standout is arguably the Vice City police car, a Lamborghini Huracan given full VCPD markings and lights. Around it ran the usual Grand Theft Auto exotic stand-ins, rounded out by a pair of Albany muscle cars, one of them reportedly done up in green paint with gold wheels and a zebra interior.
The real GTA 6 cars spotted in Miami
In-game vehicle | Real-life base | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Invetero Coquette | Chevrolet Corvette | Vice City-style wrap and Leonida plates |
Invetero Coquette D10 | Chevrolet Corvette C8 | Angular D10 kit, mid-engine proportions |
Progen Emerus | McLaren | Full hypercar kit, one of the showstoppers |
Pegassi Tempesta | Lamborghini, Huracan-style | Pegassi is GTA's Lamborghini analogue |
Grotti Cheetah | Ferrari, Testarossa-style | Classic GTA supercar with Ferrari DNA |
Albany Manana | Classic American coupe | Sports-classic, lowrider-adjacent look |
Albany Buccaneer | Classic American muscle | One sighting had green paint, gold wheels, zebra interior |
Vice City police car | Lamborghini Huracan | Full VCPD livery and lights, the convoy's standout |
Rockstar has not published an official list, so these base-car matches come from corroborated sightings.
Rockstar has not released an official vehicle list, so the names and base cars come from the people who filmed the convoy. The most-shared clips came from the Miami account ONLYinDADE, who posted the gas-station video, along with Key Biscayne footage from Uncle Ken and close-up photos from Andrew Blake Ames. The in-game identities are clear enough from the wraps and badging. The exact donor cars under the kits are best matches from those sightings, which is why some reports fold the two Corvette-based cars into one entry and others count two.
Interestingly, this isn't the first time Rockstar has put a real GTA car on the road before. In 2013, for Grand Theft Auto V, it worked with West Coast Customs to build a single screen-accurate Bravado Banshee from a Dodge Viper. The car was a GameStop contest prize, won by a 56-year-old grandmother in North Carolina whose son had bought the game on her card. She later sold it to help pay his tuition. However, a show car, handed over as a prize, is a different thing from six to eight of them running a convoy through a real city.

The convoy is just the latest piece in the Vice City takeover of Miami that has continued, and seems likely to keep going, through the end of the year. We have watched branded beach gear and plane banners appear on South Beach, the blimp fly down the coast and signs go up around the city. Putting the cars themselves on the road is an excellent follow-up. It takes the idea of the Grand Theft Auto IV police car patrolling New York but gives it an unlimited budget.
Rockstar may never put out a formal car list. It does not have to. The photos and the internet are doing the work. GTA 6 arrives on November 19 and by then, we wouldn't be surprised if everyone will have a hard time telling Vice City from the real Miami as the fictional city keeps bleeding into the actual city.
